The Old Ones were the first sentient beings to appear in the galaxy. They developed technology and psionic abilities which enabled them to see far into the future. They saw the end of life in this galaxy and all others.They knew they would not be able to defeat the coming threat, so they seeded sentient life across the galaxy in the hopes they would fight against each other, and in doing so prepare themselves to take on what the Old Ones couldn't. In time, the Old Ones realized their psionic presence attracted the threat and quickened its arrival. The Old Ones chose to genetically manipulate themselves in order to become a lesser version of themselves which would slow the threat. The beings the Old Ones evolved into were the greyliens. They programmed themselves to aid the other races in developing themselves for the future without the help of the Old Ones.
