Lucky Fishing Rod

This collapsible bamboo and brass fishing rod is enchanted have extremely good luck. After 10 minutes of fishing the user must make a DC 12 survival check. If they fail the fish got away, if they succeed they successfully reel in a fish or other creature living within the body of water. What they catch depends on where they are fishing however it will always be the best fish they can catch in said body of water. For example if they were to fish in the open water they would always catch large and healthy tuna, swordfish, squid, etc. However if they are fishing in a murky and filthy pond with only sickly fish, they will still catch only small sickly fish.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The rod itself usually contains the essence of a creature that can speak to or command fish such as merfolk, tritons, and in the most powerful rods, krakens. This essence is manipulated into an enchantment that allures fish.

Significance

Few people have the patience to fish the proper way so many have spent gold or time and magic to get themselves a fishing rod that would make fishing far easier. Occasionally people will be caught cheating in fishing competitions with such such poles which is one of the reasons those that use these poles are largely looked at poorly by other fisherman.

Rarity

Uncommon, although not rare you would only find these in for sale in specific locations like large coastal towns and in the ruins of such places.
