Forlinde
The largest major city of the fae continent, Forlinde is home to mainly fae and fae-touched humanoids. The glades and forests surrounding the city are home to satyr, dryads, nymphs and other nature-loving fae but the city itself is mostly comprised of elves, gnomes and other more social and civilized fae.
The city is grown, rather than built and run wholly by a council of druids - a balance between magocracy and theocracy called the Elder Seasons. Many of the council members are ancient – some are immortal fae such as Kaephei – an erlking of such power that many believe he is the sole true ruler of the city – and Tiadra a hamadryad and consort to Kaephei. There is no set number of council members and the only requirement to join the council is to be unanimously voted onto the council by the Elder Seasons. Currently there are seven members of the council.
Within the highest layers of the city it is not uncommon to see many different races of people wandering the aerial boardwalks, visiting the markets, and socializing. The fae courts in Forlinde are a peaceful and relatively decadent arena where much of the brutality of nature has been removed from the daily lives of many who make their homes in the city.
