History of Kaomora

Rise of the Titans

3 382

With the gods gone and their world now rapidly filling with their elemental giant subjects. The Titans started to draw boarders for their territory. There was friction between Kaomi the Titan of Fire and Umbraxio the Titan of Shadows as the radiant heat and light emitted by Kaomis subjects often spilled into the shadows of Umbraxio.
It was said that this is what caused the first war of the giants.

    The Hammer of Grahmesh
    Celestial / Cosmic

Grahmesh was a mighty warrior of the Fire Giants, he wielded a magical hammer that was forged from the very core of their King Kaomi a Titan among Fire Giants. It was said this hammer was the dying gift of the old Titan before his flame was extinguished deep below Kaomora. With one fiery lash of his hammer Grahmesh could forge hills and the mightiest of swings could raise mountains. Grahmesh has all but defeated the ice giants when the titan of Peace Leventus broke the stone giants away from the land. This act created a great Tsunami that extinguished the hammer even if just for a few days, it was all the ice giants needed to mount a devastating offensive forcing a number of the fire giants to the north where their bodies said to form the obsidian peaks found in the ocean of that region.
Some say Grahmesh was taken captive and his hammer is locked in the shifting vaults deep within the Kurioso Depths others believe he was slain and now rests with the other fallen fire giants in the Obsidian sea. No one truly seems to know.

    The gift of Leventus
    Geological / environmental event

The stone giants worshipped a great beast a Titan they called Leventus, it’s skin was as hard as stone and it’s teeth tougher than steel, this titan often protected the stone giants agains the other warring clans. He would grant them eternal peace if they prayed and did not fight for one whole year. They prayed for peace and did not engage with any of the other giants for the whole year. Peace came through the greatest act Leventus could bring himself to do. He used his sharp teeth to bite and break away the land of the stone giants away from Kaomora. Once he had dug a channel through the earth he reared up his mighty head and came crashing down pushing the lands further apart and creating Serpent Spine coast. It is rumoured Leventus’ skull lies in the depths of the hungering chasm between Kaomora proper and Serpent Spire. As for the stone giants it is rumoured they’re bound in a peaceful trance high up in the twin peak mountains.

    Celestial / Cosmic

Known only as the Seeker, this Storm Giant saw as more life began to populate Kaomora. That eventually life would start to seek answers and guidance and purpose beyond survival. The Seeker informed the other Storm Giants that for this new land to survive they would need the aid of the gods and the other prime planes. For ten years The Seeker would brave the other planes seeking audience and aid from the denizens of each dwelling. After the ten long years the Seeker returned and informed the fellow Storm Giants he had been able to link the material plane of Kaomora with the other planes. Feeling their custodianship of Kaomora had been completed the Storm Giants retired from the lands. They’re rumoured to still exist in secret in floating mist mountains. But no ship has been able to prove this.

The time of Man, Myth and Magic
    Population Migration / Travel

With the old giants withdrawing and the gods now heading the calls of man. The other planes influence started to seep into the now dull Kaomora, breathing a new life of magic and marvel. Dragons now flew across the skies, while owl-bears started to roam the forests. The Dwarves took residence to the mountainous north and orcs took to the islands to the north east. Everyone seemed to have a home and no two borders seemed too close. However as populations grew and further races took shape and drew their mark on the world so rose the conflicts of differing views.

    Dawning War of the Sands
    Disaster / Destruction

The borders of each territory started to grow ever closer, but the one area that was seemingly ignored was the centre. The hot arid landspace of the then called Central Sands (now referred to as The Red Mesa was discovered to be rich in minerals and ores. This was a big boon for any kingdom hardy enough to endure the heat. Soon battle lines were drawn as the factions each pushed to dig deeper each discovering vast quantities of Mithril, Adamentine, Obsidian and other rare ores. This created tension among the territories each trying to lay claim to the sands as their own. This sparked one of the longest and bloodiest wars in the history of Kaomora.
The sands originally an off white, yellow were stained Red and even now years later, be a mineral imbalance or the reminants of war the sand there still remains red.

    The toll of Trade
    Civil action

It was said as the lines of territory were drawn, the dawn of trade began as the often mineral rich nations to the north lacked the live stock or agricultural prospects of their southern neighbours. This helped ease tensions and for a time, and a great prosperity cultivated within Kaomora, this prosperity was cut short by what some argued as greed, others a basic violation of the now know trade treaty. It was said that a shipment of dwarves ingots was stolen. But the dwarves claimed they were cheated out of a fair price for their wares and so the finger pointing started and the axe sharpening begun. War again took hold of Kaomora and nations were quick to try and seize neighbouring profit centres. It was only at the hands of one very clever goblin named Kraz’ist that the Kraz’ist treaty was brokered. Outlining in complex mathematics what values and reasonable guidelines of trade could be used to conduct fair trade business. Kraz’ist formed the wider used currency of today and the coin system. Payment and values could be negotiated but agreements as per the treaty had to be signed by both parties at the agreed amount for each placed item.
The treaty was signed by each of the major factions as listed below.
    The Elves of Serpent Spire
The Orc Chief of Savage Lands
The Dwarf King of Hammer Deep
The now defunct Human King of Zagari, now referred to as Kingdom of Fungaziri
The Merqueen of Sunken City of Atarei
This has been the way of Kaomora ever since.

    The Forming of Blightscar
    Disaster / Destruction

The Blightscar formed on the face of Kaomora in response to what some claim to be the work of Frinzart Shelwyth a foul Wizard who was trying to raise an army of undead to claim Kaomora as his own. Others claim the scar was born from a collision with the Shadowfell. The only documentation of its appearance is somewhere within these dates. The latest theory is a corrupted tree caused it but who really knows.

Time of Tranquillity

983 and beyond

This chapter in the history of Kaomora has been hailed as a time of tranquillity, no war has besieged the lands and no quarrel has seemingly bubbled it's way to the surface.

    The breach of Barh'l
    Celestial / Cosmic

The breach of Barh'l was an event of incredible loss for the angelic community when the pearly gates of mount Celestia were breached by the Legions of Barh'l.

The demons broke their way through and tore through most of the angelic soldiers, their sheer numbers reigned terror across most of the inhabitants of the base of Mount Celestia.
The intruders were eventually repelled by Lutharias and his Solaric Templars, as the demonic portal began to crumble and victory was assured a dark corruption overpowered Lutharias and he and the Solaric Templars were cripped and destroyed with the gate.

This has always been marked as a sombre day within the celestial community.
