Who was this man? He was the tribal singer of the southern tribe of Jinri'an with the deep silky baritone that could be heard rumbling across the great plain like thunder. The secret he kept hidden was that he was the one who encouraged the Singers of Songs to make Lu their pilot because he wanted her to have the life that she always dreamed of. Of course, he couldn't have known that her dream would turn into a nightmare. Son of the great El'iaija, he worked hard to measure up to his father's standard of excellence, but the thing that nobody understood about him was that just because he didn't express his emotions openly, didn't mean they weren't there. He felt things deeply, loved with all his heart, and was easily hurt. The one thing he couldn't live without was music. He loved to sing, and his favorite place to be was at the Festival of Titi'abule on the great plain of Bo'kaabo singing the songs of his people.
My name is Umbajin Da Oren'ile, also known as Jin, and I'm in this story to be Lu's guiding star on her life's journey to remembering the song of her heart.
