Trilling Glowers Species in Kantostara | World Anvil

Trilling Glowers

Trilling glowers are nocturnal bioluminescent creatures that float through the air in the areas near the canals of Navaravu. Adults average approximately a half inch in diameter and come in a variety of colors and they look like glowing jellyfish. They have extremely poor eyesight so they use echolocation aided by the trilling sound made by rubbing their tendrils together which is reminiscent of the sound that crickets make. This is also a means of communication. The female of the species lays her eggs among the marsh grass that typically grows along the shores of canals. They begin life as larvae floating on the surface of the water sheltered by the grass until they grow to adulthood and become capable of floating above the water. They eat algea and small bits of plant material near the surface of the canals helping to keep the water clean and healthy. They are very gentle and shy creatures.
