The Festival of Titi'abule (Tee-tee-ah-boo-lay)

History

The tribes of the Bane'ile were always on the move, migrating from north to south and back again as they followed the warmth of summer. But at both the sixth and twelfth joinings, when the star beings came together in the sky, two becoming one, all the tribes would come together for the Festival of Titi'abule on the Great Plain of Bo Kaabo at the center of the habitable zone.   There would be an explosion of colorful tents and joyful noise as everyone would set up camp for the duration of the joining. These were happy times when friends would reunite and alliances would be renewed. The days would be spent playing games and trading goods, and in the evenings, food would be shared, each tribe contributing their special delicacies to the communal feast.   The god-like beings known as the Singers of Songs would walk among the people singing the ancient wisdom and tales of old, and the very air would shimmer and vibrate with the ethereal sound of their voices. Then the singers of each tribe would join in, singing tales of the places they had been, discoveries they had made and experiences they had since the last festival.   When darkness fell, and the rains came, everyone, young and old, would join in the celebration, laughing and singing and dancing late into the night. Those of prime age would take part in friendly dance competitions, the winners securing bragging rights until the next festival when they would compete again.   When the joining came to an end, and the star beings parted once more, the tribes of the Bane'ile would go their separate ways, continuing their migrations in search of sustenance and new discoveries.   It is said that during the Festival of Titi'abule, the songs of the Bane'ile would echo across the Great Plain of Bo Kaabo, and the ground would thunder with dancing feet, until the entire world would sing with the joy of coming together as one.
