Wayhis Lum - The Inner Worlds

The Inner Worlds are cyclic spaces of various sizes. They are the product of ones' mind. Reflecting their owner's psyche, their content is unpredictable and ever-changing. Theoretically, all sentient beings can create and enter their Inner World but in practice only a few of them have a sufficient sensibility and mastery of Nankaï to do it on purpose. In these spaces the owner and creator of the world see his power significantly increased, however the inside and the outside are almost perfectly impervious to each other and the world need a great amount of Nankaï to be maintained. They are often used to isolate individuals be it for privacy, fights or hiding. They are anchored to the place where they were created by Nankaï flows and are totally intangible from the outside by conventional means, only those sensitive enough to Nankaï can perceive their abnormality even if most of them don't understand the meaning of such alteration.   One can enter such place by a few means :
  • being close enough to its creator on its creation
  • being invited by its creator
  • using gates often sealed by its creator
  • creating a breach between the inside and the outside, then crossing it, can also be used to leave it
These spaces collapse on a few conditions, either :
  • its creator runs out of Nankaï : the world slowly collapse as power fades
  • its creator decides it : the world instantly collapse, the mightiest beings can totally control the collapse
  • its creator die : the world quickly collapse as the mind vanishes
  • a substantial amount of Nankaï is used against it : a breach appear linking the outside and the inside, the world slowly collapse as its instability grows, unless the breach is closed

Multi-Worlds

Some beings with special predispositions have the faculty to create and maintain multiple Inner Worlds at once. However these worlds, although tightly linked, don't share the same importance and don't directly interact with one another. The main world is the one inhabited by the creator. The others are each either maintained by another being in whom the creator fully trust or by an aspect of the creator's personality. These side worlds are smaller copies of the main one but are affected by the entity maintaining it, as such they are variations of it.
