Great Plague of Umbar

The Great Plague of Umbar or Gravecalling (SR 1326–1330) was an outbreak in the City of Umbar of the Miasma that had spread throughout Eastern Mayudar. It was thought to have been brought into Umbar's Seaport by merchant vessels.

The Plague began spreading throughout the region as early as 4751 AW (1320 SR), but the first major outbreak in Umbar did not begin until mid 4757 AW (early 1326 SR), nearly six years after the first documented case in the region. This outbreak would soon take the life of the city's Radiant, Radiant Megaera Khúsoë, on the Low Solstice 4758 AW (Day of Silence 1327 SR).

The Plague spread virtually unchecked from the beginning, and would not be brought under control and eradicated until the intervention of the Awakened Radiant that would be sworn in on the High Solstice 4759 AW (Blessèd Day 1328 SR) to succeed Megaera: Radiant Gávyod Vraisoséto. The Plague was deemed eradicated in Umbar in late 4761 AW (mid 1330 SR), and in the whole of Eastern Mayudar eight months later on the Autmnal Equinox 4762 AW (Fallen Equinox 1331 SR).
