Magic

To those who do not know the techniques to develop it, the patterns of wootz steel are magic. Anything that cannot be sufficiently explained by those witnessing it is called magic. Magic, derived from the archaic word ”mæggok”, is an unfathomable, primordial force that is found throughout the world and alters reality wherever it is found. It taints; mends; hardens; bends; corrupts; heal; forges; shatters; there are many things magic can do, with its full potential still yet to be discovered. Magic, for all its use and potential, is not often employed by man, for two reasons: it is rare and is the embodiment of chaos.

What Is It?

Before one can practice magic, they must understand what "magic" is. While there is knowledge of it, much of what is known about magic is either experimental or limited: magic is still largely mysterious and unknown, especially because it is rare and doesn't have much of a pattern, if at all, but what is known is this: Magic, in its purest form, is energy: however, it is a different kind of energy than what makes our bodies move. Law of Binary Flow

The Law of Binary Flow states that magic energy comes in two forms. These different flows of energy are likened to the different charges of electrical energy.

Positive Magic

Magic with a positive charge, also sometimes called light, white or good magic (although these have incorrect implications), is the type of magic that can be associated with creation: it can draw substances together (on what we would call a molecular level, if powerful enough) and, with the right concentration, can do so so effectively it seems to create things out of thin air.

Negative Magic

Magic with a negative charge is the type of magic associated with destruction: negative magic can be concentrated into an unstable blast, although this is very dangerous, and can break substances down to their base components (like water into hydrogen and oxygen).
