Lae Line

Læ Lines are hypothetical pathways on which Magic energy travels up and down. This idea has been purposed and repurposed in almost every culture, in every corner of the world, with different interpretations and ideas, but the overall concept is the same. It is important to remember that this concept is purely hypothetical, meaning while it may be seen as plausible, as of now has yet to be proven or disproven. The issue with this proposal is that the stage of development the arcane arts are in, it would be difficult to come up with a means to accurately test this idea.

Law of Rivers

The Law of Rivers is the most commonly discussed proposal of læ lines: essentially think of læ lines as like a river in the forest and magic flows through these rivers much like fresh water. Two possibilities are purposed for this concept:
1. Magic has no source and is just created, somewhat like electricity, in a constant, chaotic flow back and forth along læ lines, with all of them eventually interconnecting, not unlike the oceans of the world.
2. Magic does have a source, like the spring of a river or the coal in a fire and is constantly being generated by some sort of power source, as with light from the sun.

Localization

The primary evidence for læ lines is that there are areas in the world that seem to have magic in higher proportion/flow than other places. These regions are known for their unusual effects and characterizations, such as the seasonal desertification of the Nbundo River Basin.
