Arcanus Consortus
The Arcanus Consortus is the most renowned magical order and place of magical learning in Kalarda. While most of the ranks of the Arcanus Consortus consist of wizards, sorcerers, or warlocks; some martial types who have studied magic can also be found among their ranks. Spellcasters who gain their magic through faith and devotion rather than study and practice are less likely to be welcomed among their more traditionalist peers. However, the order is a shrewd one and will not let talent pass it by.
While the Arcanus Consortus is primarily a school, its location and populace also make it a political entity in the eyes of the kingdoms of Kalarda with many nations trying to curry favor or manipulate it with political maneuvering; though the Consortus takes a stance of neutrality and Anti-Interventionism.
Structure
The Arcanus Consortus is lead by a Grand Magi; an elected position, he or she is granted this title from the 8 heads of each order within the Arcanus Consortus known as High Magus. These High Magus also sit on a council with all the other heads of each order within the Arcaus Consortus. This council is known as The Magistratum which acts as the ruling body for the Consortus as a whole though each Order has a significant amount of autonomy to act as it wishes.
Order Mindsets and Responsibilities:
Order of The Grey Robes: Focuses on castigating the wrong and dangerous use of magic which may include hunting down rogue caster groups and hedge mages
Order of The Purple Robes: The members of this order follow the path of knowledge. They focus on gathering and preserving knowledge.
Order of The White Robes: The members of this order follow the cause of Good. Often they will assist the forces of Good to defend against the darkness. They focus on causes of righteousness and justice.
Order of The Yellow Robes: Members of this order focus on logic and philosophy. Some of the Wisest men and women of Kalarda were or are members of this order
Order of The Orange Robes: primarily siding with the forces of good these mages focus on battle magics; some of the best war mages of Kalarda are members of this school
Order of The Red Robes: Member of this Order focus on diplomacy and mediation in politics. Some of the best advisors of the realms are members of this order
Order of The Black Robes: Black Robe Mages valued cunning, ambition and power; with many being considered cruel by their counterparts, They tend to avoid open acts of violence if more subtle ways can be found. Black Robe Mages seek the quickest route to power possible to satisfy their hunger for magic.
Order of The Green Robes: Focus on creating and studying magical artifacts. Members of this order are often reserved an unsolcilable preferring to create in their labritorties or towers. However some of the best artificers and arcane craftsman are members of this order.

History
Founded by nine of the most skilled and talented Spellcasters in the Second Age Before the event known as the "Collapse" these; these times marked the peak of mortal arcane magics.

Foreign Relations
The Arcanus Consortus keeps itself out of the Politics of Kalarda and only intervenes when not doing so would directly hurt Kalarda as a whole. though some in the order resent this stance of neutrality and anti-interventionalism
