Pelenthir
Only the giants know that harrowed and abandoned place. Only they can survive it's unforgiving surroundings. -Siber Kial
Purpose / Function
At the time of its construction, long before the descent, Pelenthir was a wizard's abode. Home to arcane laboratories, an Arcanium, and various other fixtures. It served as the home of a powerful spellcaster, who kept meticulous notes about his residence, though never using his own name, commonly referring to himself as "The Bridger"
Alterations
The structure suffered cracks, despite its sturdy construction of massive stone brick, likely from the The Descent. It has since lost its wrought iron door, and it has been replaced with a oaken one. Water channels have begun to dig into the stone after hundreds of years of rainfall.
Architecture
Made of massive ten foot stone bricks, Pelethir stands out against the unoccupied and inhospitable mountains of Tironar. It is utilitarian, with flourished touches that have washed away with the rains. It stands nearly three hundred feet tall, dwarfing anyone that lies at its foot.
Defenses
There is an anti-magic field that persists in the tower, though its source is unknown. The landscape surrounding Pelenthir acts as a natural defense to any organized attack, but it is so remote and unknown that it has yet to be the target of any armies or conquest.
History
Long before the descent, a spellcaster known as "The Bridger" resided in the tower, calling it Pelenthir. Some time between the descent and 50 PD, The Bridger vanished from historical references and sightings. The tower, as far as the eastern world has known, has sat abandoned since; only known to well-studied scholars and curious wizards.
