Kingsgate

No place represents prestige, elitism, and the educated more than Kingsgate. Scholars and theologians fill the streets, while wineries and specialty distilleries are the only production allowed within the city walls. It represents all the things we escaped from in the Commonwealth.

Demographics

A healthy mixture of various races, Kingsgate is the most diverse city in the Northern Emyr Expanse. No group holds majority, though humans still make up the largest minority. Most people that reside in Kingsgate are either quite wealthy, or serve the wealthy.

Government

The city of Kingsgate is overseen directly by the Imperial Commonwealth of Emyr, no mayoral office exists. Since the city revolves around the University at Kingsgate, the person with the largest influence within the city walls is its headmaster, Siber Kial.

Defences

A proper wall surrounds Kingsgate, while the city proper pushes up against the mountain ranges bordering Valax's Cauldron.

Industry & Trade

Little to no industry takes place in Kingsgate, save for niche jewelers and wineries.

Infrastructure

Kingsgate has imported infrastructure from Blackhearth through the incredible wealth of its denizens and their taxes. Most manors within the city have proper running water and access to a sewer.

Assets

Not rich in goods or trade, Kingsgate's most valuable asset would be the library and Arcanium in the University.

Guilds and Factions

The largest guild in the city is the University at Kingsgate, which employs nearly half the city proper.

History

Starting with the University at Kingsgate, the city proper grew up around it as time went on from its founding. Kingsgate is still considered a young and growing city built with old money.
