Rivona, the Wayfaring Tide
Rivona is an ocean spirit who travels mostly unseen through the waters of Kairos, shifting with the tides and currents until someone needs their guidance.
Rivona's Doctrine
Rivona is a patron deity of many sailors and coastal towns. The ocean is a fickle thing, and dangerous. Some believe that Rivona can be drawn to a people or place and entreated for help during storms and for help in navigation. There are very few temples to Rivona, as is typical of principalities, but shrines dot coastlines and ship decks. Before storms and during perilous journeys, the shrines will become laden with gifts as people try to catch Rivona's attention. Rivona's clerics are rare, but they find easy passage on even commercial vessels, since it's expected that they can channel their god for safe travel. It's not entirely understood who Rivona chooses as their clerics, but they seem to be generally good people who have some level of care for the ocean.
Submergence
Rivona is an old god, but they don't have many ties left over from before the Exodus. As far as anyone knows, they were as reclusive then as they are now, resting in the hidden places under the waves. They have only been known to appear at night amidst the stars, and those who claim to have seen them describe them as a figure like looking up at the night sky from underwater. Despite their reclusive tendencies, however, Rivona is one of the few gods that entire conversations have been recorded and backed up by many witnesses. They've been known to spend entire nights on the deck of a ship, talking like a mortal with the crew and passengers if they've been properly entreated. This isn't a common occurance, but it happening at all is notable; Rivona is one of the only principalities who has no problem with appearing in front of many people at once.
