I'seyll, Aspect of Many (ee-SSAY-ill)
There are many dangers that lurk in the Pillars, treading the paths between them. I'seyll is one of the most vile, stealing the lives of mortal and divine travelers alike.
I'seyll's Doctrine
I'seyll does not have many clerics. They hate mortal lives, and they have no desire to be involved in them. However, they hold a lot of power. Wizards, archdruids, and even gods have been consumed by I'seyll, and they will share that power for a steep price. Given that all they truly care about is continuing to consume, they are willing to share power with mortals who can contact them in exchange for their lives at the end of the line—and death is no escape from this pact.
Prisoner of the Pillars
I'seyll used to prey on Kairos before the Exodus, consuming the identities of people foolish or unfortunate enough to cross their path. Those they consumed did not die, but lived forever as broken fragments of consciousness, vying for their minds back, entirely aware of the existence they've been condemned to. When they consumed someone, they took their life, using their name, face, and memory to walk unnoticed among the masses, quickly consuming entire families, and then villages. In the Exodus, they were raised to godhood. Although no one can know Ashnwara's will, nor even if she had a say in who was given apotheosis, the theory is that they were raised to their status in order to keep them imprisoned beyond the material, out of Kairos forever. This doesn't mean the threat they posed is gone. While powerful magics make it possible to traverse the astral sea, or the Middle Path, it is extremely dangerous because of creatures like I'seyll, who supposedly has eaten gods.
