Elidys, the Broker (ELL-ih-diss)

"Do you think I would have reached out to him if there had been any other way?"

Elidys is a master of negotiation and manipulation. Many deities of every rank are indebted to him, and the scope of his cosmic dealings are well beyond mortal comprehension. The connections he makes with Kairos are far simpler than the ones he makes with the gods. He never makes the first move, but he is willing to negotiate with anyone who can breach the barriers of the planes to contact his ambassadors. The satisfaction is temporary, however. Rarely does anyone come out of his deals better off than he does, and if it seems they do, it's likely part of a much bigger scheme.

Elidys is the god of oaths, a deity who works in deals and exchanges with desperate gods and mortals lost and without options or simply willing to do anything to get their way.

Elidys's Doctrine

The mortals who end up in Elidys's services are either indebted to him or are fanatics trying to earn his favor. Because he doesn't simply grant power, but brokers deals for it, he doesn't impress upon his "followers" a certain way of living, and very rarely are they preachers of any variety. However, those that serve him are rarely well-intentioned. Contacting a liaison of Elidys is an esoteric process that requires time and sacrifice, and the people who go through it are desperate, and if they aren't desperate at the beginning of the attempt, it will likely turn into an obsession by its conclusion, else it won't come to fruition at all. Elidys's followers have no alliance to each other, and their "faith" isn't usually central to their lives. It's much more commonly a means to an end.

A Carefully Woven Web

The connections he makes with Kairos are far simpler than the ones he makes with the gods. Lord of the Hells

After the Exodus, the fiends who had been feeding on mortals in The Celestial Age were little more than fodder for more powerful things to kill, and three of the gods capitalized on this. Elidys created Hel, which was eventually split into The Hells as they became more populated. While Elidys's Pillar is a fairly kind landscape which follows simple laws, he leaves The Hells to their devils, and they aren't nearly so welcoming. Each layer has its own archdevil, but they all report to Elidys, who rules with the iron fist of the god who only knows complex plots and divinely-binding oaths.

Once Deceived

It's a common myth that Elidys was tricked once, and that he's still suffering for it to this day, but the story varies between cultures and continents. If there is any truth to it, nobody who's contacted him has been brave enough to ask.
