Celschön is Dorstovoya's strongest center of knowledge and a formidable opponent on the global stage, although nobody is entirely sure why.

The Light of Knowledge

Celschön has directed a huge part of its resources to education, both mundane and magical. Its people are expected to have a full education at one of the cities' schools, and those who don't have a difficult time finding work unless they can make it themselves. Although they can't compete with Elonde-hír's or Orlaine's magical educations, Celschön's schools are highly esteemed in Dorstovoya. They teach an even spread of each traditional school of magic, although enchantment magic is illegal in Celschön.

Machiavellian Protection

Celschön is a comfortable nation with a silently vicious government. The only nation that has ever attempted war with Celschön is Zaratka, and every time they've tried, their armies have failed. By all accounts, Celschön's military efforts are focused toward clandestine operations. They don't seem to have a strong army, and yet every time they're invaded, their attackers fall first. Their navy is a much more obviously formidable force.

Council Rule

Celschön is ruled by a council, each with a different specialization: theology, military, diplomacy, education, and trade. These leaders serve life terms, and when one dies, another one is voted in by the remaining council. It's an unspoken precedent that the newly voted members are early in their lifespan. Usually this means a human in their early to late 30s. Recently life terms have come into conversation in case of elven and dwarven leadership, but as of yet, senators have only been human and halfling.

Government. Celschön is governed by a senate of five people who serve life terms and oversee worship, military, diplomacy, trade, and education.

Demographics. Celschön is historically a human nation, but plenty of halflings have migrated south, and its economy and educational system have drawn plenty of people from elsewhere.

Military and Defense. Most of Celschön's military resources seem to go into the navy, but Celschön is impossible to invade. By process of elimination, it's assumed that Celschön commands a highly prolific spy network, but nobody actually knows about it.

Economy. There is a higher presence of enchanted items circulating in the economy of Celschön, especially the kind of magic items that are useful in mundane life, such as arcane lights and orbs of time. Other than that, the commerce is as vibrant and active as one would expect in bustling cities. Plenty of imports and exports are always going in and out, although it takes longer for resources to get to Celschön than in more navigable places like Toralaithe.
