Celestial Bodies

Kairos has two suns: a large red star called Solana (soh-LAH-nah) and a smaller blue star called Calisto (ka-LIH-sto). They orbit each other in a cycle that lasts about a month longer than the year. There is a slight change in the color of sunlight over the course of a cycle, but it is almost imperceptible because the change is so gradual. When Solana eclipses Calisto, the blue sun is entirely concealed, but when Calisto eclipses Solana, it creates a faint halo of blue light, which is mostly visible at dusk and dawn. Kairos also has one small moon called Eion (AE-on), which orbits Kairos in a 28 day cycle. On very special occasions, the moon eclipses both suns, creating a light show of orange and blue rays behind Eion's shadow.   Pictured: Solana and Calisto during a spring when they were both visible.
