Nortem

A cosy village located between the Burram Woods and the Rover Hills, Nortem has a strong sense of community between the wooden houses. It had always been a well-loved break spot for travelers and merchants, something which has diminished over the last couple of years.

The Scarlet Flail

An old and somewhat neglected adventurer's inn that once was the bustling heart of the town with bards coming to visit often to sing songs and tell tales. Now it's mostly used by townsfolk who want to drink after a long day of work.

The Halls

The Halls refer to a partially covered market place. It has a roof and some interior half-walls. This is the place within Nortem that markets are held and various people sell their products and crafts if they don't have a shop themselves. Traveling merchants also use the Halls as a temporary place to setup shop.

The Nortem Temple

The biggest building in Nortem is the temple, located next to the main square. The temple holds various alters, each for their own deities. The main deities that are worshiped in Nortem are , and .

Statue of Ulas Lunaren

In the middle of the main square stands a statue of a male elf holding a bow with a wolf at his feet. This is the statue of Ulas Lunaren, known to be the savior of Nortem when the village was attacked by monsters that came both from the forest and the hills. He was the first to respond and keep the monsters at bay long enough for the guards to wake up and come in action.

Geographical location

Nortem is located on the edge between the Burram Woods and the Rover Hills. The closeness to the Burram Woods provides them with a good resource for wood to build with.

Architecture

Nortem is a relatively small village with mostly wooden houses, as wood is the most abundant resource for building in the region. Bigger houses have a stone foundation. Most of the paths are simple gravel paths, with only the main square being fully paved. The village doesn't have external protection like a palisade or a wall.

Quest

The village is under attack! Gnolls are raiding the houses, taking villagers with them. This has never happened before and information leads to believe this is the work of the Tarmec's Rovers.

Name	Description
Shavari	The female tiefling that runs the temple. Her overall motherly spirit has helped many lost souls find some purpose in life.
Hjoldir Firesteel	The Burning Forge smithy is run by this male dwarf. At first glance he looks very stoic, but people who get to know him better learn from his caring side.
Jotran Tenbranch	A lively male halfling who runs the farm closest to Nortem. He has a wife called Heska and a twin brother, Ridic, who runs the farm a bit outside the village.
Eda Coinkeeper	A female human who runs the Halls and makes sure the place is kept in working order for fair trade. She is generally good mannered, but can be very strong-willed if it comes to business
Qiro Shadowtree	A male woodelf who helps Eda with managing the Halls and keep order between shopkeepers. His strong demeanor also makes sure thiefs are kept at bay.
