The Nightbringers

To give them their official title they are the First Foot Regiment of Greendale, but nobody ever uses that name. In common use they are The Nightbringers and for good reason.
Each soldier is an archer, and each archer a master of their craft. They train since their youth, daily, with the dreaded longbow that is emblematic of that land. In battle they do not join the front ranks but seek out vantage points from which they can form lines and unleash devastating volleys of arrows over great distance - as many in flight at a time as to turn the day to night

They are most feared for their mastery of the Greendale Longbow.   It takes considerable strength and practice to properly draw a full size bow, let alone unleash an arrow from it every seven seconds until the job is done.
