The Kadegan Year
Corethe, and most of the Ellyndar States, uses the calendar of the River Kingdoms that has been modified since Ellyn people fled centuries ago. Years on the Ellyndar calendar count up from the year that the Ellyn people arrived in this part of the world. Thus the current year is 892.
Summer: This season is dedicated to Cor, the god of light and sun. This season is dry and hot with little rain. This is the time for trading and farming. The air is clear and the ocean is smooth. Rarely, great storms will strike land. The people call these storms, Suil's Fury, and they believe that Suil is fighting with Cor over dominion over the skies. Summers typically last from Zintza though Vita.
Winter: This season is dedicated to Suil, god of storms and seas. This season is filled with storms and rain. This is a time for marriage and fishing. The air is heavy with moisture, the ocean roils in temper, and flash floods can strike without warning. However, the people are grateful from the break from the heat, but are occasionally reminded of summer when sunbeams break through the clouds in striking rays known as Cor's Rigging. Winters typically last from Dera to Ardia.
Months & Days of the Week
There are 365 days in the Ellyndar year, 12 months, and 7 days in each week. Month and day names are corrupted versions of River Kingdom names or derived from deities or leaders.Seasons
