Ensparked

Ensparked

They were created as a tool of war years ago. Originally clockwork constructs with the ability to learn and adapt on the battlefield, many were later created with a crystalline matrices that granted actual sentience. And, with awareness came a soul, and with a soul, often, the desire to self-determine. They were well-known for their size, their war prowess, and their single-minded focus. They make fearsome enemies and steadfast allies.

Personality

Like their creators, they experience fear, hatred, pain, and anger. Most of the remaining Ensparked seem naturally reserved and pensive. The faces of Ensparked were not designed to display facial expressions. It can look as though they are distant to the conversation. They typically lack physical facial expressions but despite this, they are not completely without expression. When they experience strong or specific emotions, their eyes sometimes tend to brighten. For the comfort of their companions, some Ensparked modify their faces to be more expressive.   Ensparked don’t have much life experience because they spent most of their time performing the one specific duty they were designed to fulfill. To achieve these ends, they may make endless lists of goals. All Ensparked have one thing in common: their love of working. They can work extremely hard. Military thinking and war are the foundation of their personalities; they understand very well the chain of command, conflict, and duty.

Ensparked Relations

Even when they were new creations, Ensparked struggled to find ways to relate to the species that created them. In peacetime, many Ensparked created solely for war strived to find a place in society for themselves. Throughout their existence, they accepted their servitude and struggles with equanimity.

Ensparked Religion

Ensparked are generally neutral on the subject of religion. They were built to serve a singular purpose, not to wonder whether this purpose is right or wrong. They were perfectly capable of independent thought, but it was rare that they showed much interest in religion. Most Ensparked do not wrestle with ethical ideas, but a small minority of their kind have taken up religion to answer the question of their own existence.
