Alcippe Areia

Alcippe Areia

A daughter of Ares Mars Olympia and the human Princess Aglaulus, Alcippe had a fairly normal human childhood for a demi-god. Ares loved the girl deeply, a fierce bond between them many viewed in the light of compensation for the marriage between Aphrodite Venus Ourania & Hephaestus Vulcan Olympia.   Alcippe's half-brother Eros Areides-Ouranov was swaddled upon Olympus, grandfather Zeus content in his victory. Ares was sulking in his place, Aphrodite married to his ugliest (but useful) son, and the little Eros was another god to control. The Outcast Olympian missed his son and lover terribly. But, Aphrodite ensured Aglaulus and little Alcippe were present where she and Eros were not. As some bipedal sapients inform me, such parallels create intense bonds, and the bond of father and daughter was a rarity in its time.   It remains then, no wonder of what happened next, when a son of Poseidon turned his lecherous eye to the young demi-goddess.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Alcippe's story was as normal as could be expected in her early years, a proud mother, a protective father. Life in Athens was simple, the course of events set by tradition and expectation. Until Halirrhothius, son of Poseidon, took interest. He was married, a father thrice over. She, a scrappy daughter of Ares who wanted nothing to do with the fellow demi-god.   While Alcippe fought bravely, Halirrhothius overtook her. Alcippe screamed, and her father answered. By the time Ares was yanked away by the collective efforts of Athene, Apollo and Hermes, there was little left to be buried, and even less of Halirrhothius to give the ferryman.   Alcippe watched her father defend his actions in chains upon the Areopagus, the Hill of Athens where trials ever after took place. And there, with Aphrodite holding her hand, she saw the way Ares and Aphrodite sought each other's eyes. The silence between lovers. The cavernous silence between Ares and the other Olympians.   And Alcippe understood why Ares left the Gods' mountain, and why he would go back.   Justice prevailed and Ares was free. Alcippe was given the choice to return to Athens, or go with her beloved Aunt Artemis Diana Olympia. It was an easy choice. After the birth of Alcippe's son Daedalus, who was held once then wrapped in swaddling clothes and sent off to Aglaulus' family in Athens, Alcippe became Artemis' right hand. A stalwart defender of women and warrior in her own right, she was cleansed in the sacred pool Hera Juno Olympia and Demeter kept for such purifications, making her fit for Artemis' company. Ares fathered the Amazons to give Alcippe and Artemis protection and companionship, a civilization of their own away from the misogyny of the Greeks.    Centuries drifted, Alcippe aware in a small way of Daedalus' imprisonment in the Cretan Labyrinth, aware at the death of Icarus and Leander her mortal line died out.    She did not mourn their passing, all her energies focused on her Amazons and her Maiden Lady.    The centuries swelled beneath them, their small band growing and disintegrating in times of war and strife. Alcippe and Artemis kept in touch with Ares, and once the time of the Olympians dwindled, they fled to the forests of the Caucasus to be left alone. Seldom did they fight in the Mystic War, eventually coming to North America for the peace and quiet.    Ares purchased a vast parcel of untouched forest in what became British Columbia, as nature preserve and cover for Alcippe & Artemis to do what they wished, away from the prying eyes of society. They still take on wounded or frightened women. Their mission to rehabilitate or provide safety stays strong.

Gender Identity

Alcippe is a confirmed feminist, and views the feminine as the pinnacle of the Creatrix's cosmos.

Sexuality

Unknown, presumed celibate.

Education

The courts of Athens and wilds of Artemis' wilderness were Alcippe's education, only adding more when Athene Minerva Olympia sent packets of new technology to better help their mission to preserve the wilds and salvage woman kind.

Employment

The right hand of Artemis, Alcippe works tirelessly to preserve what they have, and do what must be done to maintain it.

Failures & Embarrassments

"I don't view it as a failure anymore, pater. I haven't for three thousand years. I was young, and lacking the skill I have now. He bested me, and you saved me. I see it now as an example of my father's love. I, your demi-goddess daughter, the consolation for missing Eros' first days.

When I was in danger, you came for me. When I needed justice, you applied it. When I longed for companionship, you fathered a collective of sisters to care for me.

You are the God of War. You bring terror and pain and the vicious end of a blade. But you do so for love is your companion. I'm happy for you, pater. And although I do not wish to be part of your world, I welcome you as part of mine."

Mental Trauma

Although healing came to Alcippe, the woman chose to remove herself from Man's World instead of remain in it. She bears a deep and vivid distrust of the masculine and male, and allows it to cloud her judgement.

Intellectual Characteristics

Shrewd, cunning and cold hearted.  Alcippe has a keen mind, and a strategic one.

Morality & Philosophy

Women first. Nature is to be preserved as an act of thanksgiving to the Creatrix. All else is ash in the sand.

Taboos

Touching men.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

To salvage the universe by elevating and saving womankind, the reflections of the true Creatrix.

Vices & Personality flaws

To this day, Alcippe has avoided her Resurrection grandsons Icarus & Lou.
