03.03.2019 - Thunder
General Summary
- The slaves have a large tattoo on their backs (S and M recognize it to mean they are slaves of labour). The tattoos are fairly new.
- The tattoos are used it Tritonia (at least before the rebellion)
- Is the same location as the other characters.
- The slaves are in rough shape, malnourished, badly treated, recently whipped, in chains etc.
- Two males one female (leader).
- Steep cliffs
- Forest
- Ruined house further in on the beach
- Just recently settled here
- Everyone is well armed
- Leader: Auberon, red clothes, large chipped scimitar.
- Voice will go negotiate with Auberon in the longhouse while we 'stretch our legs'
- Some valuables are exchanging hands: lady paying Auberon in gold and emeralds.
- Auberon proudly claims they are Tritonians.
- Talking about the 'rebels and usurpers'
- The moutain have been usurped by the clovers.
- Have to live here until they can strike back at them.
- Says it's profitable to live all the way out here. Has helped numerous refugees from the war. Tritonians help each others.
- Don't have any healers, but have some bandages etc.
- The tribesmen prevent them from leaving the beach.
- A searching through the ruined house. hacked to pieces, blood on the floor,
- Got to a place by myself
- Tribesman looking at me, but finally got to look at my items.
- Captain's map shows secrets compartments and trap doors. (I haven't found them yet)
- Two tribesmen looking at me now.
- Some of the settlers wear sigils of the mountain (not all the same, but same theme). Seem to know each other well.
- The leader tribeswoman is regularly trying to get out of her chains.
- Voice tells M: "I don't like it either. Let's get enough food for the refugees and then see what we can do"
- The tribesmen have spears, clubs, a stolen scimitar, teeth/horn necklace, things grafted into their skin. Skulls etc strapped to them. Random things: a spoon on a string etc.
- Tries to trade necklace with arrow. Likes that it's metal.
- Gets an unknown animal skull for another arrow from the other one
- Tribesman tries to trade every necklace he has some other stuff and a very interesting unknown metal stone.
- Don't want the instruments, but trades a dagger for the stone.
- The Lady wants to leave, so I say goodbye to the tribesmen (they doesn't wave back)
- Back on the boat, the Lady asks what we want to do.
- She calls them remnants f the old regime, slavers
- "I imagine you have some experience with that Manath"
- The Lady want's us to get in touch with the tribesmen and give them weapons.
- The settlers don't appear to have a ship
- Tribesman waving from the cliff (I wave back)
- Beckoning me to join him. (Directed specifically at me)
- Can't see this from the beach
- A just jumped 15 meters to the cliff and shot a rope to the boat
- I jumped over too
- A ties the rope to the tree
- Tribesman is signalling to me: claps his chest, makes bowl gesture and gestures me to come with him.
- S takes off his armour and carries it over. The Lady sends over a bag of daggers and swords etc. M comes over.
- We follow the tribesman (all stealthily) into the woods
- Sheer cliffs on the other side as well
- Forest mix of temperate and jungle, very thick
- Have to go single file, I mostly climb etc. with my claws
- Growls and unknown sounds, animals looking at us through the trees
- S imitates the sounds to the tribesman, he laughs but shows one of the teeth from his necklace. Fang long
- Enters clearing
- Thicket of yellow flowers
- Mound of rocks, manshaped. With veins of metal -> Bavarium (seen it in the quartermasters room) commonly calles Song Steel (same as my rock)
- He gives a batch of flowers to each of us. Mimes eating them.
- S eats first, it tastes sweet/fruity/full of nectar
- Taps his chest, bowl gesture, claps the air
- T and M eats them, A pretends to
- Becons us to lie down on straw bedding on the rocks
- Gets drowsy
- We fall asleep (A pretends)
- The tribesman eats the flowers too, then checks if we're asleep
- Sees that A is not asleep, forcibly feeds A flowers
- A resists, and the tribesman disappointedly falls asleep
- Animals approach the clearing curiously, deers, rabbits, a tiger
- A disguises himself (26!)
- Everyone that ate the flowers gets a long rest
- Music emanating from the rocks
- A draws some of the animals
- Sleeps for just an hour, but feels like a long rest
- There are now tribesmen in the clearing
- Taps his chest, then mine. Seems happy about it
- Does the same for S and M
- Seems concerned for A that's 'missing'
- Manath shows them the weapons
- They are very interested. Want to trade.
- A draws a comic to explain that we want them to take the weapons and attack the settlement and free the slaves.
- The tribesman doesn't understand until A insists, he taps on the drawing of the female and becomes enthusiastic. Talks to the others and goes to pick up the sword.
- Sylword starts forging (magically) a sword into a morningstar
- The tribesman leaves trinkets etc. in the swords place
- They are holding the swords like clubs, M tries to teach them
- T gathers the trinkets and tries to learn about the language and trinkets
- Learns some words of animals, plants, they are proud of their hunters, 'kill', 'sneaking around', 'tracking', 'fur', 'claw', 'feather', 'wait'
- While S way forging, the metal in the stones sings louder than normal.
- The guide looks more important than the others. His name is Parapara
- S gives him the morningstar and tries to tell him the word 'Freedom'
- Gives S a half-stone - half-rock stone in trade. (S knows that the song steel is legendary)
- S ethical struggles about whether or not it's ok to kill all the settlers
- Parapara taps his chest and points to the settlement
- S tries to cast lesser restoration to get rid of the tendrils, does nothing.
- Then tries remove curse -> works
- We explain that they should wait for the light, then kill the settlers
- S and M walk to the settlers from the north (T waiting in the forest with the tribesmen in the south)
- A waiting on the ship after having told the Lady of our plan (to avoid them fleeing to the ship)
- S casts wall of fire inside the longhouse (with him and Auberon inside)
- Auberon jumps out of the window and into a barrel of water
- One of the settlers dies instantly
- M breaks the female's chains
- The settlers are running to put out the fire
- The freed slaves grab anything that could be used as a weapon and goes to fight
- M insta-murders one guy from the back (double crits)
- T does 40 dmg with one arrow (crit) to Auberon
- (4 tribesmen vanished? just Roll20 or on purpose, retcon i guess)
- Auberon dispels magic as a reaction (touching an amulet)
- Female tribeswoman is badass warrior/monk. Smears the blood of her slaughtered enemies on her face
- Two tribesmen and 6 settlers down currently
- Auberon counter-grapples S and uses him as a shield. Telling him to get us to back down or else he's dead
- S kicks them both into the fire -> Auberon dies, S goes unconscious, the magical flames dissipate (the natural ones remains)
- Gets the tribesmen's help to put out the fire (So we can loot + get unburned supplies that's left)
- T loots Auberon: black disk w/spiral symbol, 45 gp (most have symbol of the lady), gems (bloodstone, topaz, emeralds(green)), 30 sp, 2 daggers (well balanced, military grade), scimitar, red sash, red hat -> hidden compartment w/diamond (murky w/song steel, finely cut), partly burned personal letters, undertunic w/sigil of the Mountain, signet ring
- The letters mostly from his family or love letters (wife or mistress or something), one from family with last sentence: "Keep her there for one moon" -signed Rockwater (large boulder w/ wavy line insignia) Probably got it a few weeks ago
- S: "Did you know that general Regan was a coward?", "He turned tail, ran away from all his soldiers, only to ___"
- Name from love letters: Aina
- "Rockwater are the rightful heirs of Tritonia"
- Identified disk: Attunement. Dispels all magic in a 5 ft radius, concentration, once per long rest.
- Rest of loot: 165 gp, 450 sp, 1 red spinal (gem, 130 gp), masterwork artisans tools (+2 circumstance bonus to any craft), smithing- /carpentry tools, portable furnace, paintings(burned remains), several healing kits, great axe, great sword, 100 arrows, 1 potion of Greater Healing, (+ food etc. ), several pieces of chainmail, some shields, small badge of rock laced with song steel, barrel of bavarium
- The tribeswoman has learned some words from being a slave. Talking with the Lady
- The Lady makes wilted flowers blossom. Tribeswoman in awe
- They all clap their hands to their chest and cupping their hands to her. Then keeps repeating something containing the word "forest". Then beckoning her into the forest
- She does her magic in the clearing, the rocks sings and more flowers appear
- Beckon her further into the forest
- Enter a large clearing with their village and a large tree
- Tree on a small rocky hill laced with song steel merging with the tree itself. Pulses with dimly glittering metal. Has random disks on it (almost dull mirrors)
- Village in disarray, women of the tribe there around the tree -> chanting (shamans)
- Chanting is desperate, but seemingly no effect
- some plants growing around the three, dying/dead. Used to bear fruit/nuts
- The Lady chants the same thing they are chanting near the tree
- Glow (persists after chanting finished)
- The plants grow bountiful/healthy
- evening, moon out, the queen touches the tree and the glow seeps into her. She gasps, eyes glowing until she collapses
- Tribeswomen makes a bedding by the tree for her. Keeps chanting the same word: 'Mother'
- Manath getting the attention of the ladies because he is muscular/tall and viciously effective in combat
