The Twisting

"Before the Dwarves of Varn, before your Thrüdheim, before even the Thousand Year War, The Twisting has stood as sanctuary to my people. You are guests here, but we have no patience with your disrespect for our home. Should your foot fall upon a single sapling, know that there it shall stay, severed and planted to fertilize the seedlings of Enralei."

- Marlyn Shadehall, Firbolg shaman of the Maghi Woods.

Geography

Sprawling from the Varn Mountains to Dreyla's most northern tip, The Twisting stands as Jotunheims largest woodland area, with many micro biomes within. From its foul smelling peatlands and salt marshes, to its craggy mountains and sprawling canopies, the Maghi Woods are said to be some of the most untouched and untamed environments in all of Jotunheim.

Ecosystem

While primarily a sprawling Jungle, the Maghi Woods also give way to a handful of other environments such as salt marches and peat bogs. Additionally, with the largest trees in Jotunheim, even the canopies of the jungles can be considered a wholly unique environment in of themselves.

Fauna & Flora

From the salt marshes to the mountains at its center, the jungles of The Twisting are home to an innumerable number of species. Many of them are exclusive to themselves and are found nowhere else within Jotunheim. Such as the @Lowland Belcher, who patrols the peat bogs and salt marshes where they filter the salt and decomposing matter into a highly noxious and corrosive mucous. Or the bellasaurian Whiptails that patrol the waterways and jungles, where they wait in ambush for unwitting prey. And while the Amargasaur is not exclusive to these jungles, it does house the largest population.
