Centaur

Roamers at heart, centaurs love open spaces and the freedom to travel. As much as they can, centaurs run. They race the wind, hooves thundering and tails streaming behind them.

Centaur Biology

  • ( 1) Strong. +1 to your Strength score.
  • (-1) Simple. -1 to your Intelligence score.
  • Size. Medium.
  • ( 2) ✦ Powerful Build. Requirement: Plain Strider legacy: You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. You are also able to wield slightly larger weapons.
    • Add 1 foot to your base height, increase your base weight by 50%, and you roll one additional die to determine weight and height.
  • ( 3) Large Form. Requirement: Powerful Build: You trade the Powerful Build feature for your size category to become large.
    • +10 to your Speed.
    • +5 to your strength score and maximum strength score.
    • Add 2 feet to your base height, double your base weight, and you roll two additional dice to determine weight and height.
  • Speed. 40 feet.
  • Equine Body. From the waist down, you have an equine torso.
    • Your hooves are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you can deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier.
    • Any climbing that requires hands and feet is especially difficult for you because of your equine form. When you make such a climb, each foot of movement costs you 4 extra feet, instead of the normal 1 extra foot.
    • Double the speed to increase the 'Quick' feature provided.
  • Plant Digestion. Due to having two stomachs, granting you the ability to digest and draw nutrients from plant matter like grass, leaves, and flowers.
  • ( 1) Quadrupal Footing. With four feet on the ground at the same time, you count as one size larger during grapples.

Centaur Ethnology

  • ( 1) Dexterous. +1 to your Dexterity score.
  • (-1) Arrogant. -1 to your Charisma score.
  • ( 1) ✦ Overwhelm. Requirement: Powerful Build or Equine Body: You are proficient in the Trip attack maneuver. You can use your bonus action to knock the target prone as part of the attack. The target must succeed on a Strength or Dexterity saving throw of their choice or fall prone.
    • The DC is equal to your DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your strength bonus.
  • ( 2) Quick. +5 to your Speed.
  • ( 1) Mounted Fighter. While you are not technically a mount, you can use the Lancing Strike Action. Where you can wield the hafted piercing melee weapon one-handed without incurring disadvantage, if it otherwise would require two hands to avoid attacking with disadvantage.
  • ( 1) Beast Tamer. You have Proficiency in the Animal Handling Skill.
  • ( 1) Wilderness Attunement. You have Proficiency in the Nature Skill.
  • ( 1) Herbology. Whenever you make a skill check related to determining plants, studying flora, foraging plants, or any other skill checks related to or using plants, you add your proficiency bonus to the roll. The bonus stacks with any already existing bonuses.
  • ( 1) Archery training. You have Proficiency with Short bows, Longbows, and all other types of bows.
 

Centaur Lineages

Centaurs of the once great golden horde spread out far and wide following the death of their leader. Some remnants of the horde remain, spread out throughout the world to find planes of their own to lay claim to. These are known as the Plain Strider centaurs, masters of shock tactics that can contend with any knightly force throughout the kingdom of man. But some renounced the ways of conquest. Taking up residence deep in the dance forests to better attune with nature.  

Plain Strider

  • ( 1) Stout. +1 to your Constitution score.
  • ( 1) ✦ Bush Craft. You have Proficiency in the Survival Skill.
  • ( 1) ✦ Strong kick. Your attacks with your Hooves deal 1d6 instead of 1d4.
    • If you don't have Equine Body, your unarmed attacks deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier.
  • ( 1) Charging strike. If you move at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and make a melee attack right after on the same turn, you can forgo the need to spend a bonus action to make an Attack Maneuver.
  • ( 1) Extra language. You know one additional non-extraplanar language of your choice.
 

Forest Sear

  • ( 1) Wise. +1 to your Wisdom score.
  • ( 1) ✦ Timberwalk. Ability checks made to track you are made at disadvantage, and you can move through difficult terrain made of non-magical plants and overgrowth without expending extra movement.
  • ( 1) Medicinal Practise. You have Proficiency in the Medicine Skill.
  • ( 1) ✦ Flock guide. You learn the Guidance cantrip. The cantrip doesn't count against the cantrips you already know.
  • ( 2) Star Sear. You know the 2nd-level spell Augury. You can spend 10 minutes ritual casting the spell.
