Antimica
Antimica are a race of ant-like creatures and are native to the world of Jirathas. Their primary homes are built in the earth beneath the surface close to the Upperdark. They are lawful neutral by nature and have rigid social behaviors and operate with a strict hierarchy within their society.
Colonies are spread throughout the world of Jirathas. Antimica are not the only race of ant-like creatures on Jirathas. There are others including the Martialis, which dwell deep in the Lowerdark portions of the Underdark, and the Ponerinae which are a rarer species in Chaenathae who have evolved beyond having a queen and can be found living in both subterranean areas and on the surface.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Most Antimicans have a total of 6 limbs. Their caste depends on how they use the limbs ie wether they walk on 2 legs and fight with 4 arms or as in the case with workers; use four legs and work with two arms. The nomadic surface dwelling Antinium known as the Diacamma have evolved to have four limbs and are accustomed to wearing armor and fight far more like humans.
About half of The Domyr, a race of Underdark Antimicans that have some wasplike features also have small wings that allow them to fly over short distances.

All Antimicans have Darkvision with the exception of the Diacamma. Most Antimicans also have above average perception.

History
No one is certain when the Antimican were created, but it is believed that they were created around the late 2600’s by Besius child the demi-god Myrmica. Myrmica’s creations to the world of Jirathas have been limited and heavily overseen by her father, but they include many insect related races like the Antimicans; the relatively peaceful race of Nandaral, the Domyr; the humanoid ant/wasp hybrid of the underdark, the Purple worms of the underdark, the Dynastinae; a giant rhino beetle that lives in the upperdark but are frequently tamed by Antimicans as mounts. It’s also believed that Myrmica created the monstrous underdark Cicadas that are frequently used as flying mounts by smaller races like the Svirfneblin (Deep Gnomes).
What is known is that the original Queen to the Antimica was forced to leave Rûndan with the corruption of the Skaerso forest. Initially delving deeper into the underdark the Queen managed to escape the area, coming to the surface near the scar outside of Emberdale. The journey was treacherous and many Antimican lives were lost. In the end she, her surviving 150 warriors and 60 workers made it to the northern lands of Nandaral. The wood elves welcomed the Antimican with open arms and a hive was established deep in the earth beneath Verwood forest. Aware that her naivete almost cost her the lives of her entire race, The Queen decided it was imperative to keep track of what was happening on the surface. After fifty years once the hives numbers had reached the thousands once more, the queen developed a process to create more advanced Antimicans that matured rapidly and were adept at fighting in case they encountered danger while topside. The first of these she sent north to scout the forest owned by the High Elves. Illewood welcomed the Antimicans among them. Emboldened the queen created a second group and sent them west. This group never returned. Through her far reaching telepathy the queen discovered that the second group encountered great struggles crossing the Hadris Ocean and once they landed on Chaenathaen land they were far enough from her influence that the group severed their ties and created their own nomadic group. Over the years they became known as Diacamma. They never developed a queen and have since separated into several nomadic tribes that live throughout Chaenathae, often dwelling on the surface unlike most of their other counterparts.
It wasn’t until the later years of 2800’s that the Queen became aware that some of her original hive were taken by the shamans responsible for the corruption of Rûndan. Initially tortured for information they were magically severed from their Queen. After nearly twenty years of torture and agony from being separated from their queen the group of Antimican became corrupted, many of them showed deep signs of madness but one of them came forward; a former guardian by the name of A’kr’krtch. A’kr’krtch convinced the shamans that the group would be a benefit to the defenses of the rising city of Zriurg. A’kr’krtch was able to hide his madness in his focus to free himself and his brethren, a task that took years in the making. Once released and assigned to an area of Zriurg A’kr’krtch and two of his lieutenants struck back at the forces that kept them imprisoned for so long, the destruction was great. They burned a quarter of the rising city with fire. What the shamans were unaware of was that the Queen had kept her subjects cut off from the natural magic of the world. By severing her connection over them they unlocked a latent ability for a chaotic form of magic that dwelled within the Antimicans. Over the years those who weren’t completely insane learned to hone their skills while biding their time.
After burning hundreds of Orcs to death in the lower west side of the city the rogue Antimicans escaped and eventually established themselves in Alhrazaar. A’kr’krtch used the corruption magic to create a new queen to lead the budding hive. She was born of a dark ritual of chaos magic, fire, and hatred. She became known as the Queen of Fire. Her subjects worship their queen and an ideal instead of a god. These fire ants have begun to terrorize the landscape of Alhrazaar with their mix of raw wild chaos magic and clerics of fire.
