Alvara Artemis

Alvaera Artemis

Alvaera was born in the forest while it is likely she was raised by her parents and grandparents she has no recollection of their presence in her early life. She does recall running through the woods while leaping from tree to tree and playing with the animals that so many people described as untamed beasts which never made sense to Alvaera because the wild beasts to her always seemed to be the creatures that inhabit civilized society that despite their knowledge of morality continue to defy their moral compass in favor of lustful and temporary commodities like money or a good time between the sheets. The animals she ran with did not commit such attrocities. They only killed for survival never for pleasure and they always gaurded their pack despite the temptation of abandoning them. Alvaera has communicated with animals easily from the point of her first contact with a young fox she had found in a disposed hammock that had left the animal tangled in its web. The animal did not growl as she approached, it did not whine and it did not hold fear in its gaze. When Alvaera released the fox it did not run it stood there staring then walked and turned to her as if to ask if she was coming with. So she followed and the fox led her younger self to a stream with plenty of fish and other curious animals. It was there that Alvaera discovered her appeciation for the natural world. Although Alvaera holds seemingly clear memories of her early childhood some of her memories are fragmented in an incoherent order. Like a puzzle spilled on the floor of a child's room she is able to view the content of the images but only in a tangle of strange faces and places. The fragments hold images of monsters attacking her home and strangers being pulled from her embrace as they scream at her and tell her to run. She does not know these people but she feels a level of connection with them that feels paternal. Alvaera does not like to dwell on the obsidian marks that have tainted her past and maybe that is why she cannot recall much of that time but she has not forgotten the orcs that stole her home. Although she holds resentment toward the orcs that attacked her home she does not hold all orcs accountable for the attack on her home and the strangers that tried to protect her but she does hold a level of suspicion that keeps her from completely trusting orcs. Alvaera does not know how she escaped the flames that stole her home or the grip of the creature that left claw shaped scars on her shoulder. But it is the case that she did escape the evidence can be found in the branches of the forest that sometimes hold a small figure peering down at you with curiousity and caution abundtly clear across her features. With the guiding presence of social etiquette being replaced by animals instead of the typical social practice Alvaera has developed less than desirable social quirks often interrupting others or asking questions that are too personal. But her presence among the wolves, the moss and the pile of books she may have borrowed without asking have allowed her to develop skills that she has used to communicate with animals, identify food and access a diverse number of languages. Although some people are put off by her impatience and prying nature she is kind, charming and loyal to those that she considers to be allies. Although she is kind she does not tolerate cruelty and she has no problem defending herself or her friends.

Alvaera resides among the trees where she remains vigilent looking for potential hostile threats. When needed Alvaera is capable of stopping many enemies. She prefers to forage, lounge with her animal companions and test new mediums for her art.
