Generalus of the Ackramorian Army

Qualifications

In order for any Ackramorian citizen to receive the rank of Generalus of the Ackramorian Army, they must have served in the Ackramorian Army for a minimum of 3 years and have achieved and held the rank of either Field Major for 3 years or Legate for 5 years. In order to receive the rank of Generalus, the candidate must hold a 4 year degree from the Academy Militas or a 2 year degree if the individual has already served as a Legate for 5 years. Lastly, an eligible Ackramorian citizen must be hand selected by the current Grand Praetor-Generalus. In the case of a Legate lacking the requisite 2 year degree at the time of selection, they may attend to this requirement after selection, but before official appointment.

Appointment

Appointment to the position of Generalus is, as it always has been, the soul jurisdiction of the current Grand Praetor-Generalus. Upon selection and the completion of any remaining qualifications, the citizen is sworn in by the Empress and issued a platinum laurel wreath, synonymous with the most elite in Ackramorian Imperial Government and the Imperial Military.

Duties

The duties of a Generalus of the Ackramorian Army are to lead the Legions and Magions in battle. Each Generalus is liable to be responsible for 2-6 Legions and 2-18 Magions, totalling between 12,000 and 60,000 soldiers. This equates to approximately 2-10% of all of the forces in the Ackramorian Empire. A Generalus may, under extreme circumstances, become responsible for an entire defensive front or offensive action as the forces they command are sometimes significant enough to do so. Typically a Generalus will coordinate with a small number of other Generaluses in command of other Army Groups to carry out such duties.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Every Generalus within the Ackramorian Army is likely to have magical artifacts and items useful to them in their duties or collected over their career. Additionally they are always seen wearing their Platinum Laurel or, if in battle dress, wearing a helmet adorned in a suitable stand-in. The Generalus must also at all times while on campaign, at war, or within the capital, bear some mark of either Prime, or the Generalus' preferred God from the Pantheon of Virtue, the Pantheon of Innocence, or the Pantheon of Vanquishment.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A Generalus may be forcibly retired from service or demoted at any time, for any reason, by the Grand Praetor-Generalus. A Generalus may also be forcibly retired from service if it is deemed to be the will of Prime or the Generalus' patron God. In the case that the appointing Grand Praetor-Generalus no longer holds his title or is unable to perform his duties, the new Grand Praetor-Generalus or the reigning Emperor may forcibly retire the Generalus from service.
