Description

Echo’s Point is an outpost established in the frontier of an untamed wilderness by the Monster Hunter’s Guild. Coastal highlands, ancient forests, frozen mountainscapes, and more teeming with Wyvern-like monsters. The Monster Hunter's Guild conducts research and exploration of these lands. Skilled hunters make up the majority of its population, much needed to face its surrounding dangers.

Lore Summary

Echo’s Light: Party successfully completed the first expedition to this unknown hex, now scouted as a treacherous highland area, and is home to the settlement: Echo's Point. The party encountered the Monster Hunter Cielle once again, who recruited their help in returning a wyvern egg to the nest of a Rathian and Rathalos which was snagged by a Kulu-Ya-Ku, a large chicken-like-raptor known for hoarding things. The Party also rescued the guild maiden of Echo's Point, Rebecca, who was trapped under a cart after it was attacked by the Rathian when trying to pass near its nest.   They See Me Rollin, They Hatin: Part 1: Party ventured to Echo's Point to strike a deal with the smithy, Rose, in order to acquire some all-purpose tools for Jaytown's benefit. Rose offered to exchange the tools for a supply of Dragonvein Ore so she could upgrade her own forge. The party was sent west into the mountains to mine the ore, where they came across a deep cave system. Fortunately the party acted smart enough to avoid any major conflict as they encountered a spider queen - a Nerscylla - carefully mining the ore without disturbing her webbings and communicating with the lesser spider beasts. Eventually returning safely to Echo's Point with the supply of ore for Rose.   Part 2: Party followed up with Rose regarding a request to acquire Uragaan Oil, needed to quench and forge materials at the smithy in order to craft armor with properties similar to that of Adamantine plate. After carefully navigating past a nesting Rathian and Rathalos, the party met up with Cielle at a camp to get more information on how to extract the Oil from an Uragaan. They would successfully do so after weakening it enough to put to sleep and extract the oil, afterwards healing the monster, and letting it return to the ecosystem.   Magic Alloys: After spending the downtime to collect the materials needed, a party assembled to help escort Violet through the caves of the Ancient Forest to reach Echo's Point and establish a trade route. Passive Dodogamas populated the caves, but they also encountered a Deviljho, a terrifying monster which hungered to devour all, luckily with the help of Violet it was felled, and they successfully pushed on to deliver the smithy goods to Rose, placing a few orders themselves one arrived.   Frostbitten: Party investigated local monsters, fauna, and flora that had been found completely frozen solid in the highlands, the work of a Legiana which flew north after a near deadly confrontation. Another party will need to perform an expedition north to find out what's caused this frozen mist to descend over Echo's Point, encouraging these creatures to roam the highlands.   Festival of Light: Arima, Civetta, Sion, and Alphonse joined in the festivities of Echo's point to celebrate the arrival of the 2nd Feet, new hunters and felynes joining their ranks, as they partook in games and competitions, snatching fur from a playful Mizutsune, participating in a Monster Race, playing some dice poker, having a drink-off, and engaging in some banter back at the tavern. Overall learning more about the folk who live there and the mystery surrounding the frozen north, before capping off the night with a firework display.   Troublemakers: A fresh group of adventurers made their way to Echo's Point to deal with some troublemaking monsters while the new 2nd fleet hunters still get their bearings. Cielle has had her hands full as of late, but with the removal of the pesky Kulu-ya-ku stealing everything, the Great Jagras eating everything, and the Barroth flinging mud onto everything, Echo's point appears tranquil, for now.   Back in Action: Cielle called for a party of unfamiliar adventurers to help deal with numerous monsters coming out of the woodwork thanks to the defeat of the Ukanlos. The party got to witness the living ecosystem hands-on, experiencing what it's like to be both hunter, and hunted.   Lurkers in Dark Caves: Novita, Ginta, Yoruichi, and Dyril were sent to a set of freshly uncovered caves near the border of the Frozen Reach to inspect the strange screeching noises coming from within. The fought off a number of Khezu delving deeper and encountered a fully grown Nerscylla in the midst of a turf war with the Khezu. With the Khezu slain, the Nerscylla retreated to lay claim to the cave, allowing the party to leave freely, but battered.   Scores of Ores: Quinn, Sion, Rhythm, and Kur-Tark volunteered to collect materials for Violet and her sister to upgrade the Echo's Point forge. They had to track down a problematic Kulu-ya-ku which was hoarding some valuable minerals and quickly snagged some volatile slime from an angry Brachydios, through some comical errors, they accomplished the task, and Kur-Tark adopted the poor Kulu-ya-ku.   Back to the Ancient Forest: Navu received a message to return to the Ancient Forrest to meet with Una. She gathered a party to meet the Druid. Along the way, an animal messenger warned of dangerous "hunters in red". The Party found the hunters and spotted a squad of Hobgoblins in red armor in front of an arcane gate. The party engaged the enemy force.   Sleep is for the Weak: Party ventured into the highlands to capture a Great Baggi so that Violet could harvest its saliva for Trent. They needed a wagon to transport the beast, finding one at an old hunter's camp that had been taken over by a Nerscylla which escaped. After a monster mash they captured their prey, but another party still needs to deal with that overrun camp.   Fire and Sol: Arima had to meet up with the Sapphire Star in the far north reaches of the highlands to deliver a locket he recovered from Astora. Once there, he witnessed Cielle and Anna tending to a young injured gold rathian that had fallen from it's nest. The three would combine efforts, through means of great stature, to safely carry the wyvern back to it's nest. Only to discover a mage of some sort had incapacitated the parents and stolen the other wyvernlings with only traces of whitewood leaves left behind.   Hunter and gatherer: The party gathered and wanted to celebrate their stay in JayTown as well as the passing season. They needed to gather ingredients for the party. After getting some guidance from a local nature guild, The Bounty, they went north to the Ancient Forest in search of some Mosswine to hunt. Funny enough, they did not return with any Mosswine meat.   Back on Track: Some new adventurers wanted to see what the creatures within the region were like. They found that they were quite snappy and tricky to deal with.   Mud Path: The paths to Echo's Point were cleared of mud caused by a now relocated Barroth, allowing carts to use the paths safely again; now a research team can set up camp by one of the white wood trees which have mysteriously sprouted up in the region.   Red Leaves Are Made of These: Arima, Serval, and Gurrah ventured to investigate the whitewood trees appearing in Echo's Point. They discovered Odogarons' were fueling the trees with decaying monster flesh, and could be reborn with the souls trapped within. It's unclear how the trees sprouted, but with enough containment the trees can begin to wilt, one such was contained by a Rathalos which turned out to be from the nest stolen by a mage, a shadow figure at play.   Wanted Dead... or Alive... Probably Dead: Sarah the Kenku and friends when out to kill and harvest monsters for their hide to make into armor for the squid baby Azshara. The baby now has actual armor.   Palico Panic: Andras, Rambal, Sarah, and Locast aided Scrap and Violet in recovering a number of brews washed ashore from an errant raft the palico attempted to ship on for the Greengrass festival. Fortunately the monsters attracted to the area didn't prove too troublesome, and enough ale was recovered to continue on with festivities. Monkeying Around: Brutus, a fellow hunter, came to the Bounty asking for aid in hunting a large Congalala. A party was brought together to hunt the beast and slay it. A Qurupeco attempted to get revenge on Navu, but failed.
