Description:

Empyrea is a floating city powered on fine alcohol and magical crystal engines. Once populated by an ancient race known as Aetherlf, they were abolished by mysterious monstrous creatures known as Keres that persist. Only failing robots and a ratlike race populate Empyrea now as the city slowly fails. Alistair believes that the Keres are the Aetherlf transformed as they spoke back and the Keres look quite similar to Aetherlf. He noticed they avoid attacking Warforged and robots and believe they are hostile in order to get food. If the Keres can be cured and returned to Aetherelf, they might be able to save the city.

Lore Summary:

The city is led primarily by Gus-Gus, an old ratfolk and a mysterious figure some robots refer to as 4R-TUR (Arthur) who is yet sighted. Most of the city is an abandoned wreck and the people lay stagnant waiting for a sign of hope. A Jaytowner named Flint has convinced the inhabitants that he is a descendant of the Aetherelves and is worshipped as a god now. The depths of the city are protected by living steel dragon robots that have gone haywire.
