Iwira

Iwira is the common name for the world at large, and is home to many different continents, separated by vast oceans and massive mountain ranges. Much of Iwira is reminiscent of our own world from a geographical perspective, though the inhabitants are far more diverse. Although technology varies greatly from region to region, it is by and large a medeival setting rich with magic and diverse cultures and geographic regions.   Currently, the main focus in on a region known as "The Central Lands". Despite its name, the region is actually situated in the Northern Hemisphere, and experiences temperate seasons, with mild winters and warm summers.   Other than communications between the Central Lands, its Southern neighbour Heshea, and a region known only as The Far East, much of Iwira is largely unexplored (at least by the peoples of the Central Lands) separated by the large, often tumultous oceans that divide the various continents.   The peoples of the Central Lands have maintained a steady peace struck through prosperity and heavy diplomatic efforts, but the recent violent death of a monarch may see the end of this peace, should an unsuitable candidate succeed their father.
