The first written work of the Itril Historia, the first edition of The Peoples of Itril was written around the year 900 by the founder of the Maylin Library, Romanos Maylin. The book has received many revisions in the hundreds of years since its first edition, and now bears little resemblance to the original. It the most revised book in the Historia, with committing a revision often being a right of passage for new grand librarians. It provides a description of the many intelligent species of Itril, both their biology and general cultural information. The current edition covers nine species: humans, orcs, halflings, dwarves, elves, giants, dragons, goblins, and — added in the latest major revision, changelings.
