Arthur "Artie" Bliss was a human male from Waterdeep in his early 30's. When he was a younger man he was arrested for theft the judge gave him a choice prison for 5 years or join the clerics of Valkur on their pilgrimage and daily work for 1 year. Thinking this to be the easy way Artie joined the clerics not knowing that Valkur was a God of sailors. The next year was hard sailing through the sea of moving ice to save shipwrecked crews. In this time he took to worshipping Valkur and became his cleric vowing to protect the crew of whatever ship he served on with his life. His penance on the ship ended a few months ago and linked up with Reeze.
Artie had visions of a cataclysm striking the world, not this world but another. Believing that Reeze would play a key part in this he took up the part of her mentor and protector.
Death
After the Phandilin expedition the party (Reeze Erynn Blaze and himself) returned to Waterdeep and attempted to keep order. The attempts to save the world proved futile but Kelbin Blackstaff was able to open a portal to a new world Ithica.
The portal would not remain stable for long however so a lottery was held. The last number called was Arties, this would of resulted in Reeze being left behind. Artie forced the number in to her hand before she realised and she was taken to Ithica leaving Artie in the dying world.
