Triu

A game used to resolve disagreements, not a game for the weak of heart. Triu is used for large wagers. Either large sums of gold or acts of value, ships, life debts, homes, inheritance, land, etc.   Rules   A Triu deck has ten cards, each with a number on it between 1 and 10. The participants decide how many rounds to play and how many token they can bet. Token can be represent by anything you can concel 5 or more of in a fist at once. Rocks, dice, coins, rice, and finger bones are common items used as tokens.   Each player draws a card. The one with highest card is considered the winner in the first round.   The winner shuffles the deck laying out five cards face down setting the remaining cards face down in a pile above the five cards. Starting with the loser each player takes one of the five cards and looks at it. Each player secretly chooses how many tokens they will wager. The player who wagers the most tokens can look at one of the remaining face down cards. Then each player can either choose to keep their card or take a card off the top of the pile starting with the loser, the two players then reveal their cards. The winner takes all the wagered tokens. The revealed cards are discarded and the remaining cards are reshuffled by the new winner and the process is repeated with one less card laid faced down then the previous round. The deck and face down cards are reset when the 1 or 10 is discarded. A player may wager no token but if on a hand where the 1 or 10 is revealed they wager 0 token they lose tokens equal to their opponents bet whether or not they lose.   The game ends when the agreed number of rounds have passed or one player has all the tokens. Whomever has the most tokens wins the game. winning a round the player who reveals the card with the highest value wins, except 1 beats every odd numbered card and  10 loses to every even numbered card.
