The Chronicles of the Itharia: Session Ten
General Summary
The morning of the 21st of Dargoth the party left Crawn, traveling south along the main highway the party camped off the road only to be discovered not only by one but two groups of travelers. The Familiar face of Goobin Testface, as well as three adventurers from the The Guild of Izret . Professor Lathias Longhorn, Silvas Brightlight, Elena Bloodseeker , the Myth Breakers. They were looking for strange ruins that glowed at night and seemed to move. These ruins supposedly contained dead giants that came back to life.
The party discussed briefly before a great deal of attention was drawn to Theren. Theren drew a great deal of attention from Professor Lathias and the nature their being from another plane. He eventually cast spells on them (though they were likely unaware of the effect) to get exactly what he wanted out of them.
Lathias did cast an area of protection spell to protect the group. While they slept. Early in the morning Goobin left and headed south. The party awoke and left the spells protection while the Myth Breakers slept.
The party headed east along the highway at the crossroads. About mid day the party came upon a ruined wagon and three injured individuals, all members of the trade caravan the party met on their first crossing of the Mintar Desert. The party were informed that the caravan had been attacked the previous evening by orcs. This is strange as on Ithica, Orcs do not have the same sort of barbaric nature they often display on other planes. While many bandits groups may contain orcs, its rare for a tribe, or group of orcs to entirely choose this life like on other planes. The party traveled north off the road and eventually found an encampment walled in with large tall wood.
Pip searched the majority of the encampment and returned to be rewarded with drinks.
The party decided to attack under the cover of darkness, which was aided by a sudden downpour.
Theren and Lee proceeded to assassinate the majority of the guards and the rest of the party joined them in killing the remaining orcs in the above ground encampment. They found and freed the captured caravan members before descending into the ruins, where they swiftly killed four more sleeping orcs. They also discovered a room full of treasure and stolen goods. They also discover a free standing stone archway with ancient draconic on it. The party is confident it is a inter-planar gateway.
They left the treasure room to discover the Orc Chieftain and a troll. The party killed them both and finished exploring. They found a journal outlining how the orcs arrived on Ithica and an explanation of the operation of the archway but how this side didn’t appear to have the means by which to open it.
While the party questioned the mention of goblins and the fact that they found none they prepared to settle down for the night in the ruins after letting the members of the caravan know it was safe to leave.
