Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 33

General Summary

The party prepared to say farewell to Tholly and the others. Rhy requested Cassiopeia help them get past In Mul and she obliged. Most of the Realm Walkers started to get off the ship but Rhy hung back to talk to Tholly but Cassiopeia stood by the gang blank waiting. Lee saw his sister in need of a chat and distracted the suspicious Cassiopeia by apologizing for his insult earlier in the day.
Rhy started to speak with Tholly. Tholly noted that Cassiopeia was acting strange and he wondered what was going on between her and the twins. Rhy explained Cassiopeia might know they had slept together and he looked a bit panicked and he was worried for Lee. He suggested Rhy save Lee sooner rather than later, turned on the spot and told her it was nice seeing them. Before moving up to speak with Gronco. Rhy was taken aback and moved over to Cassiopeia, taking her arm which resulted in a discussion about platonic love. She had a hard time completely grasping but the twins seemed to explain the concept adequately.
Cassiopeia got them all by Mul and bid them farewell before expressing how glad she was they all had a platonic relationship and that Rhy and Tholly had one which led to another suspicious moment, Rhy tried to hide her confusion over the nature of her relationship with Wholly which Lee and Cassiopeia saw though, though Cassiopeia suspicion tinted her interpretation. She leaned in and reminded Rhy that she was Tholly's first mate.
The party decide to look around for interesting shops, noticing "Fin's"(the tavern and inn Sharn had told them about), a shabby location presumably called the "Port of Call", a general store, and shop called "Lilly Pad and Reads". They chose to go to the Lilly Pad an Reads first and inside they found a quaint bookstore. As they perused they discover the two owners a red scaled Kobold named Dora, and a copper scaled Dragonborn named Exanna. The group spoke at length, Dora making many book suggestions, as well as informing the party the author of Hero's Rise was stuck in Fleatsprot and staying at Fin's. they also got into a debate about other planes that concluded with Rhy offering to take them to another plane, the wives insisting they were fans of illusions.
The two prepared to "leave", packing food for a picnic at their destination. They chose a tuning fork at random and found themselves inside a building with a statue and a glowing purple gateway similar to a dragon gate. Soon the room began to light and the sound of a blade being forged stopped and voice noted the "smell of Ithica".
The drow black smith eventually introduced himself as Feln, master of the Amber Forge and explained they were in Barovia. He offered to sell them something, focusing on Lee, who he showed several vicious bladed weapons. After asking if he had a dagger version of one of the weapons Feln called for assistance. An undead came shuffling in before leaving a return with the daggers in question. Lee agreed to purchase one and while he did so the rest of the group stepped outside, despite Feln warning of the cold. Lee learnt Feln knew something about the broken blade, a Feln after being shown a piece asked how many of the five pieces he had. Lee in the process also learnt that Feln had forged Soul Key. when Lee held the hilt of the blade to show Feln, was knocked of his feet as the blade screamed into his mind, "Torturer, remaker, monster". Feln offered to sell him the dagger and reforge the blade for 700 gold pieces and the two shared a drink in some sort of ceremonial agreement.
The others outside saw the cold isolated mountain side. Exanna almost vibrating staring out at the expanse quietly spoke, "I never expected to see a Lich in Barovia."
