Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 27

General Summary

Theren entered Rudy’s after trying to free the centipede only to have it climb back onto them. In Rudy's Theren convertered a large sum of their gold to chips. They found Rachel who upon seeing how many chips they had told Theren they had Triu money. After Rachel explained the basics of Triu Theren wanted to play to find someone who would steal a coat for them. The two were directed to a private Triu room and soon after a Drow adventurer arrived. Theren won the game and the adventurer/mercenary would hopefully deliver the jacket by morning. After the game of Triu Theren gambled till 2 and lost half their chips, but eventually returned to the castle.
The next morning in Lee's room when Aryn woke he left promptly, rushing out of the room and presumably out of the castle. In Rhy's room Ysir woke with Rhy and after a briefly awkward moment the two got ready to leave. Rhy cast sending to Tholly to thank him for helping her grow and to let him know they had potential work for him.
The party met the potential extra party members, one of which included the Drow worshiper of Vecna who continued to engage Ranrus as a brother. After a brief interview process the field narrowed rapidly when Theren mentioned they’d be walking unless the queen had a non beast of burden means of transportation. The Queen did not have constructs of that kind, a subject she’d discuss with Rhy over the next few days. The party chose the only real remaining option D'Havin a Dwarven cleric and worshiper of Moradin
The party, with D'Havin, headed out after Ysir briefly departed to retrieve his equipment. They took the Kemmera Through Way and exited into a false house in a fortified town in The Wilds. The party recognized a Moonfolk guarding the entrance whom they had fought during the Sunrise Tournament.
The party traveled south and after four days arrived at the tavern in the evening. D'Havin, who had been there before, was surprised by the nearby graveyard and the job board covered in rather old job requests, concluding that it had not be frequented in a while.
The party observed inside two people, a man with a foreboding energy and a bartender.
The party prepared. Ysir went around back with Soul Key after Lee could not remold its shape. Ranrus went in first, incase anyone entering provoked an attack. Inside he found tables left with rotting food and yet the bartender was acting completely normal, politely greeting and signaling him to take a seat. Lee entered, ordered an ale, and approached Mavrin.
The two spoke for a bit eventually Mavrin calling out Lee's lie, knowing that Lee knew who Mavrin was. They spoke a little more candidly before Ysir burst in and took two swings at Mavrin with Soul Key. The second swing hit differently and Soul Key shattered. Mavrin's face went through several sudden changes each displaying a very different emotion but ended on a furious one. His left eye began to ooze black liquid and he yelled across the room “I guess you get to eat today.” As the bartender transformed into an adult green dragon.
