Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 24

General Summary

The party reconvened in the street and introduced themselves to Queen Telenna. The party was thanked for their aid, the Queen acknowledge her life being saved once again in part by surface adventurers with no stakes in the Underdark. The party was offered a reward which they postponed, pointing out they were in the Underdark at Lady Het Fairmoss's request. Theren acknowledged the Queen had more important things to do and Queen Telanna invited them to the evenings events at Castle Tideguard, and promised to find time to speak with them on their purpose semi privately. She, the Hunan and the tall Goblin headed for the castle. Arlon Dawn followed up with party learning/confirming Rasephar had been involved. Ranrus healed him some before Arlon bathed himself in light healing the remainder of his wounds. The party also told him about the brain in a jar, confirming to him the Mind Flayers involvement. Rhy also awkwardly informed Arlon(speaking in Celestial only to learn Arlon was only familiar with the Celestial word for Chosen.) that they knew he was a Chosen and that they had met another. He suggested they might check out a nearby tavern “The Black Eye”, a favorite of surface dwellers and adventurers. He left the party to their own devices as turned and pulled Queen’s “carriage” back to its storage.   The party found the tavern in a hall dug into the walls of Kemera’s cavern, of which they discovered there were many such halls. Inside they found a bustling tavern with several drow customers but easily just as many race originating from the surface. One individual had a pair of talking flaming skulls floating behind them. as the party entered the Drow gave them all a quick glance and as they passed the skulls slung lewd comments at the party. Ranrus and Rhy ignored them while both Lee and Theren engaged. The skulls while bold were not quick witted and turned out to be sent by the Patron of the Drow they follow, and said aloud his thoughts on people, but twisting simple thoughts to dirty but still accurate statements. The drow introduced himself as Aryn.   After a brief misunderstanding over the title “her Majesty” Aryn rejoined his party promising to introduce them all later. "Her Majesty' is how Aryn and the rest of his party refer to Theodora Sherona, the Minotaur Queen of the nation of Crasker. Crasker was taken over by fire giants and her people place in indentured servitude. After resting the parties met. Things turned tense when Aryn announced, “So Ysir, these are the guys I was talking about.”   Rhy and Ysir had an intense but courteous stand off made awkward by the skulls inappropriate interjections.   The tense discussion swirled around what the party was up to, touching on the undead which was brought to halt when Rhy mentioned Kynta. Ysir had a moment of intense rage haring his ancestor was in some way "alive". After things calmed, Rhy informed them of all the connected events. Ysir asked if they had seen Kynta's sword and requested it be given to him as "it was by all rights his". Rhy asked if he could be tested first and though Ysir was insulted, he allowed the test revealing his nature to be neutral good. After a brief issue with the bag it release the sword with the promise of another coat from the evenings party.   Ysir, with the aid of Theodora's hammer altered the nature of the sword with a combination smithing, artificey, and giant rune magic. The blade seemingly "reforged", was quickly stored in Ysir's party's own bag of holding. The two parties came to an agreement, Ysir's party would help with Kynta (for obvious reason) and the party would aid with retaking Crasker, a feat Ysir made clear would require an army.   He was truly thankful about the sword and agreed to give them Izret's sword if he or his party stumbled upon it. The Realm Walkers also told him about Minta and his party (Theodora convinced by the nature of rightful rule, and the human girl convinced by it sounding fun) pushed him to agree to help. He made clear their price for assisting would 5000gp up front, another 5000gp on completion and they kept whatever they found.   After this the parties calmed and fully introduced themselves names, the dark brown skinned and very bubbly young woman was Rachel Green, and Aryn was Aryn of Above. Rhy asked about how to navigate the evening's events at the castle and learnt that it was best not to stay on the Fairmoss’s good side as they truly had the Queen's favour, having always supported her claim to the throne and providing immediate support when she returned from exile.   They also warned that the Umberhall's, while not held in the same esteem by the Queen held a great deal of power do to their ancestors guarding the Great Library of Kemera. This gave them real power in the city, though Ysir made clear if they pushed to much, like for example joined the insurrectionist, Arlon Dawn would likely be sent to eliminate them.   The tension rose again when the Realm Walkers were implied to be weaker then Ysir’s party. Rhy mentioned she and Ysir would fight one day. Ysir offered to throw down now and drew everyone's attention to the fist fighting pit just to the side. As they were discussing whether or not magic could be involved a cough broke the tension, a messenger from the Queen came delivering an invitation to Ysir alone, to the evenings festivities. He offered on more chance to fight before pausing, acknowledging he would be seeing them in the evening it seemed.   Date: The 6th of Sithala, 1437
