The Dwarven pantheon is headed up by
Khournon, Father of All. He is the head of the panthon that is comprised of his children, grandchildren, and his sister.
The Dwarves believe that
Khournon created the world and the dwarves. Togeter with the other gods, he worked their sins into something they can use to strengthen them. This tale is told in
The Creation of the Dwarves.
Seek to create to achieve greatness, but temper your greed
Dwarves know they they must strive to better the Kingdom of Khournon and that Abbathor teaches them the greatness they can achieve but they must exercise caution when listening to his words
Stand your ground and protect your kind, but do not spill blood without reason
Dwarves believe that war is needed. To sit and allow your enemies to overwhelm you is foolish and so war must sometimes be enacted, but to fight out of pride is to fall under the control of Kranton rather than heed his advice.
A dwarf's life ends to amplify its great deeds. Live a life worth telling tales about, and embrace Antün like an old friend
Death is a natural part of life, and dwarves must embrace this to appreciate the world they will one day leave behind. And the world they must leave should be better than the one they leave behind. To try and extend one's life is seen as abhorrent and a crime against the gods for only they can live forever.
Dwarven prayer is done with their actions. Their gods do not require formal prayer, just that they take actions that better their world and build great things.
When dwarves ask for help from their gods, it is expected that something is given in return. These can be creating something to show their craft or providing aid to another dwarf. They are asked to sacrifice their time and their skill in exchange for divine guidance.
Priests of the dwarven gods are expected to embody the god they are dedicated to. They give advice on how to embody these dwarven ideals to make them better people. These priests work and live within dwarven temples living a life dedicated to their gods.
While most of the sects worship and spread the word of their gods, Priests of the Tempered Gods exist to take confession from Dwarves who feel they've dipped too far into sin and to be advised on how to temper these internal forces and make them work for them. The position of priest of the Queenched is never permanant and never public as it takes a heavy toll on those that take on that duty.
Each god within the pantheon has a following of priests. Whilst it is important to worship all of them, different deities are more important for different aspects of dwarven life. For this reason, there are groups of dedicants to each god which form their own sects and churches. The exception to this is
The Tempered Gods Gods, those that were born of
Selesta's cooling of dwarven sin, who share one church between them. Temples to them are humble affairs with anonymous, hooded acolytes.
