Ironclad Ice

Ironclad Ice is a enchanted kind of ice, strong as steel and just as sharp. For some in Ithekshem, either natural inclination or the whims of destiny leaves them in places with few resources to work with but an abundance of cold, and they have turned it to a suitable material for survival. Some places are so cold, so touched by magic to need almost no enchanting at all.
Though it can hold an edge, the volume and weight of ice make it less suitable for swords. Most Ironclad ice weapons tend to be mauls, maces, and other crushing weapons, or spears, daggers, and arrows. While these weapons can be just as intricate as any other, the process is time-consuming and will often frost over, or chip. But carving up a rough slab of ice and putting it on the end of a pole is fast and efficient. If there is one thing the people who use Ironclad Ice usually have in abundance, it is ice.
The same magic that hold the Ironclad Ice together and harden it give it some protection against heat... But only some. While Ironclad Ice will thaw without losing its form or integrity in most temperatures, bringing it into a desert or similar extreme climate will, eventually, cause the ice to melt and its magic to disintigrate. If exposed to great and sudden heat, say in the form of a dragon's breath or a fireball, it will suffer the same fate but much faster.
Unsurprisingly, Ironclad Ice is an excellent channel for all manner of enchantments that relate to ice and cold, and an equally poor one for any magic related to heat or fire.
