Greenstone

Situated on the island of the same name, in a frigid northern lake between Taudarin and Holm, Greenstone is the site of a former penal colony that received prisoners expelled from the Kingdom of Taudarin.
Named for the green stone of malachite that was locally mined and exported in exchange for basic necessities from the mainland. Prisoners sent there were effectively slave labour employed to extract the diminishing reserves from the island.
Now abandoned, the town lies in weathered and blackened ruins, and residents of the nearby town of Fellwater regard the entire island as cursed.
