3/23/21 Session 8 - "The Windmill"
The party continues onward after their fight with the pack of wolves and the unusually tough warewolf. They cross a bridge overlooking a waterfall, while walking they discuss tactics and decide to hand off their only silvered shortsword Om Wolfash in hopes that he and his echo can double its potency.
As the advenutres continue on their way they pass by more statues and another set of gates reminicient of thoes which they assed through entering Barovia for the first time. Shortly there after they happen upon a woman walking the opposite way flanked by two giant looking wolves, which also apear to be werewolves much like the one they recently fought. They ask the woman some questions and find that she is called Ludmilla and is one of Strahd's wives. The party is wary of this woman and continues on in hopes that do not earn her ire in any way. At this point the party decides to give Ireena Kolyanovich a codename, settling upon Yvonne for now.
Upon traveling further up the road, our heroes encounter a fork in the road appearing to head toard the Windmill they've been told so much about. While approaching the windmill they happen upon their canine companion Lancelot pawing at the front door. Looking the structure Grinfiddeus Nobbles sees that there is a Raven sitting utop the doorframe. As they approach to knock, the raven flys off and a rather un attractive midlaged woma answers the door. The party learns that inside are two women, Bella Sunbane and Ophelia Wormwiggle. After making small talk with the women and distracting them, the party purposely lets Lancelot adventure further up the stairs to investigate. The women realize the dog is gone and Grinfiddeus Nobbles is motioned by Adrid to follow him upstairs to investigate and reassues the women that his friend will find and retrieve the dog. After a few moments Adrid finds an opportune moment to follow up the stairs and help Grinfiddeus Nobbles investigate. While they are upstairs shenanigans ensue.
The rest of the party attempts to make as much of a ruckus as possible and retain the attention of the women while the pair investigate. While they ask questions and such, Granny arives at the windmill on her way back from selling pastries in the town of Barovia. While things begin to get interesting downstairs, Adrid and Grinfiddeus find the lost child Gertruda upstairs and after much persuasion get her to agree to leave the windmill VIA rope out the window with Grinfiddeus. Adird heads back downstairs to confront the women about their prisioner to find that things are much worse than before. The res of the party is now fighting what appear to be Hags and they are not doing so well.
