Enchanted Maidens

Enchanted Maidens is the term used to refer to a girl or woman who is believed to be a direct descendant of the Archfae. It's known that at least 7 such maidens exist at any one time.
These maidens process an ethereal beauty hailing back to their Fae heritage, in many cases this materialises as unusual skin, eye, or hair colourings making them bewitching to behold. Maiden's will have an unusually strong bond with nature which might include being able to call animals to their aid or manipulate the natural world around them. They are often highborn with royal and noble families making conscious efforts to keep the Archfae in their bloodline but it is not unheard of for some maidens to come from low-born backgrounds. Their life expectancy is usually far greater than is normal for other creatures of their race depending on how many generations since their Archfae ancestors.
Their heritage is usually proven by some form of hardship or trial that a normal person would not survive, evil forces will actively seek out maidens. Enchanted Maidens are given the freedom to become the ruling power when marrying into royal families even turning patriarchies into matriarchies. This is because of their longevity when compared to others of their race. An enchanted maiden is not guaranteed to birth the next maiden of their line.
