Airon's Gate

When Airon agreed to The Pact, he moved The Isle of Light out of synchronization with the rest of the world. It exists at a different frequency, operating in its own space and at its own time. Airon's Gate is the bridge that ties the Isle of Light to reality. The Princesses are born in the Wide World, specifically in Ireland, each generation, in order to strengthen and maintain that tie. Priests cross over through the gate to retrieve the infant girls and bring them to the island.

Purpose / Function

To connect the Isle of Light to the Wide World, to maintain that connection so the island doesn't float away into oblivion, and to provide priests access to the Wide World so they can find the Princesses

Architecture

There is a simple stone courtyard surrounded by a low stone wall. At one end, there is a stone arch, like a doorway with no door. When the gate is active there is a portal in the arch.

History

The Sacred Island appeared off the coast of The Isle of Light at the time of The Pact. It is the only other land mass the people of the Isle of Light can sail to. The gate has always been there. It was built by Airon, the Sun God and is maintained and fueled by his magic. When it is needed, it is a short boat trip away from the northern coast but when not needed it sits several days off shore.
