Session 37: A Noble Dinner Report

Summary:

Chapter 1: The Dinner

Qabuuraha arrived at the Frat House in order to escort the party to the, well, party. He explained how it was important to not embarres Vaygrade, and how it was important this went well for him. It's clear Qabuuraha has become a Vaygrade true believer, and fully supports him as a close aid. The party stops at the Rose Gold Inn so that Qabuuraha can change into his formal attire, wearing a opulent noble outfit bearing a 17 foot long cape, carried by Seairah the Innkeeps half-elf daughter. Qabu explains capes are in, and Cicero make jokes at Lord Baron Sigfried's expense. Cicero, Aamor and Qabu all arrive at the manor and make their way inside, being announced by a Hollow Oak guard. Gregor, Valerine, Vaygrade, Sigfried, Sir Baronossa, Sir Daga, and Sir Manfred all sit at a table set with a major feast. Some chairs remain open, meaning more guests need to arrive. Then enters Ch'Bahan, the wealthy elderly elf who runs the Rose Gold Inn in Hollow Oak. After his arrival Vaygrade starts the dinner off with an offical toast and the game of petty nobility disguised as dinner banter begins. Aamor-Anastasia continues to seduce Lord Sigfried. A failed toasting attempt causes Ch'Bahan to begin epic beef with Cicero which leads to them verbally sparing all night. Cicero prevails in a retelling of his escape from the Underdark which puts Ch'Bahan's slaying of an orc chief to shame. By the end of the night Aamor-Anastasia wins over lord Sigfried, but fails to make a compelling final toast, ruining her chances of impressing his knights and the other guests in attendance.

Chapter 1.5: The Dead Village

Qaburaha explains to the party that the roaming undead of Hollow Oak seem to be centered around a ruined village in the plains of the province and tells them that they should investigate when they get the chance. He also warns them of powerful undead seemingly "leading them". 

Chapter 2: Know Thyself

Legacy begins questioning Muffins about what they know about the strange familiar that they found inside her basement room, and Muffins tries to be as unhelpful as humanly possible. Legacy, however, refuses to relent and continues questioning an increasingly uncomfortable Muffins. Muffins reveals a few things during the questioning:

• Their actual name is Muuffens, the old Nomidian way of spelling Muffins.
• Legacy's memories have been heavily altered by their father, making it so Legacy isn't a "real" person.
• This alteration was done to benefit Legacy by stoping her pain and nightmares.
• Muffins was found by The Great Golden Arcone as a gift to Cato
• Cato gifted The Great Golden Arcone Leo, his lion famliar.
• Lucius is the name of the Golden Arcone.
• Lucius was close to Legacy's father, they were like brothers.
• Muffins can not speak about the "Incident" or a spell cast on her by Cato will kill her.

Muffins throughout the questioning attempted to consume Giant's Piss despite her inability to get drunk, and remarked offhandly that she has come to the realization she cannot get drunk anymore. Legacy points out that muffins could never get drunk as a Tressym and insinuates that muffins wasn't always a Tressym, which freaks an already stressed Muffins out causing her to leave in a hurry.
After this The Old Man appears, taunting Legacy. Legacy retaliates, yelling at The Old Man who respond's negativily, pointing out his disgust at Legacy's wretched race and how their hubris always ends up being their distruction. When Legacy ask's what being a Kor has to do with it he remarks again at how prideful she is for assuming that it has anything to do with Legacy being a Kor. The Old Man is distraught that his sister died for Legacy's people and that Mystra destroyed the family for such pitiful creatures. The Old Man mentions that he stalks and records the parties progress for his sister, and apologizes for his outburst, inisiting that Legacy turn around and findout about his true form. Fininally The Old Man remarks how the party continues on the path of their story despite them knowing it will lead to their distruction. Legacy, fed up, turns around and gazes upon a being that was never meant to be seen. She wakes up under the spigot of the giants piss barrel, bleeding a black-red blood from every part of her body and laying in a puddle of his own urine and the drink from the barrel.
In Legacy's despair The Great Golden Arcone appears before them in brilliant golden flame, offering comforting words, warnings, and advice.

• The Comforting Words: Your mother is always with you, the seeking of true knowledge is the blight of every wizard, Castygys evil is done in a world that will not exist.
• Warnings: The others are aware of you now, they will come to take your heart because they are not complete and you are.
• Advice: Identifying the temporal anomoly occuring between Hollow Oak and Eastrin will resolve more secrets.

With that the mage was gone, leaving legacy with silence and their thoughts.

Group: No rewards as a group.
Individual: Anastasia: 200 xp for Sigfried Rizz, 100 xp for successful Main course, 100 xp for successful vegtable course, 50 xp for Godlike conversation with Daga, 200xp for mind meld, 300 xp for Aboleth mind banishment.
Legacy: 350 xp for Muffins lore, 500xp for gazing upon the abyss, 350 for meeting Lucius The Great Golden Arcone.
Cicero: 150 xp for Gregor rizz, 100 xp for successful main course, 100 xp for successful vegtable course, 150 xp for Ch'Bahan bout, 100xp for rumors learned, 200 xp for mind meld.

Vaygrade's favored wine is Ehmep, Sigfried's favored wine is Euushmop. Legacy has died.
