The 12 Gods

The kingdoms of man (including the dwarves) worship a pantheon of twelve gods. Each of these gods was once a mortal, rising first to a position of immortal and then to a position in the godhead through succession (not always peaceful or voluntary). Each of the twelve is given one month of the year as their own, and many will wait for the month of a particular god before engaging in a particularly challenging or special feat or event related to that god ( for instance, starting a long travel during the month of the traveling god, signing a great contract during the month of the god of trade, or heading to war during the month of the war god ).
