Ventara

"You mortals think us evil and cruel and we cannot blame you for such thoughts, for you comprehend nothing"

The Ventara, commonly referred to as the Void Lords or Princes, are the most powerful beings born from the cosmic forces of Kos, the primordial beginning, and are thus commonly viewed as gods. To mortals they represent all things evil and chaotic, but this would be a rather limited view of the ancient gods. Each Ventara is an individual bound by their nature and domains, one of their few unifying characteristics. Such domains grant them unique abilities and near absolute control of their respective aspect(s) of reality. Their ultimate goals are individual and/or unknown to the vast majority of beings. Rarely they will work together to accomplish such goals, even when most allegiances end in betrayal and deception.   Each Ventara holds domain over their own realm within The Void, which represents their domain(s) and personality. The exact limits they have on their realms, powers, and influence are not readily understood, as there are potentially thousands of realms within the Void over which they have little to no control over.   The Princes each hold their own views of mortals, ranging from genuine interest to udder contempt. Generally they view mortals as insignificant creatures, but some will applaud those that surpass their expectations. Their understanding of "good" and "evil" is far more different than the perceptions of men and tend to have more extremist views, which is but one reason mortals fear them greatly.   List of Ventara

Basic Information

Anatomy

Like the Isran, the Ventara are powerful beings of energy and concepts and are thus capable of shifting their form. Their true form is unknown and remains one of the greatest mysteries still puzzling scholars to this day.

Additional Information

Average Intelligence

Generally the Ventara are extremely intelligent in their own right, even when their domain may seem vacuous or mundane. What makes them especially difficult to defeat and ward off is the fact that many plan in terms of centuries, they may wait several lifetimes before crafting the perfect moment to strike.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

Most of the known Ventara have at least one cult dedicated to worshipping them and some of the less malevolent deities receive worship from a few of the Madurans. Such worshippers usually hide in the dark recesses of the world while others actively work to infiltrate and control the dominant factions of Iskara.

History

Mortals learned of the existence of the Ventara in the final years of the Age of Divinity, in which several Ventara breached The Veil and reeked havoc across Iskara. For years they would rampage across the known world in an event that has become known as The Incursion. After great losses and many sacrifices they were driven back to The Void. In the following centuries many of the Ventara would harass and influence mortals, worming their way through The Veil. In some rare cases some have even managed to cross The Veil and invade Iskara, fortunately though great heroes rose to challenge them and once again banish them to their realm.
