Solsileen
Solsileen, homeland to the Solvithar of Solsileen, is a comparatively small province home to vast bioluminescent forests and verdant plains. Given the region's more welcoming nature and passive fauna, life in Solsileen is much easier compared to the provinces to the north, a "paradise amidst tempests".
Geography
Solsileen is located in southwestern Teldara, and its climate is often described as temperate and welcoming. Dividing Solsileen from Elune to the east is the Syzygic Mountains, which runs along much of Solsileen's eastern border. To the north, the Padomaic and Isisir rivers help separate it from the Nekova .
To the south one can find the floating isle of Selusa. which was risen from the Avarsian Sea centuries ago and serves as the focal region of authority in Solvithar society. To the west are the Bacilian Forests, which radiate in the night and expand across vast amounts of land. The eastern regions of Solsileen are characterized by vast mountain ranges that are said to pierce the very skies, connecting to the ancestors the Solvithar worship fervently. The north was once blanketed by verdant grasslands, but after decades of war it has devolved into a shadow of its former beauty. The central regions are defined by their connections through the Isisir River, which has been pivotal in the Solvithar's mastery of their homeland and has fostered the development of much of Solsileen's farmland.
Solsileen has one isle off of its northwestern coast called Amar's Reach, which in recent times has been repurposed as a military and naval base of operations given its proximity to Nekova.
Localized Phenomena
The most notable phenomena is when Arcana pools and merges with a naturally occurring hurricane creating what is known as an Arbala Sulsi, or "Wind-Raging Child". These monstrous wind storms are extremely dangerous and are said to tear even the sturdiest of trees from the earth. Fortunately these storms are rare and roughly occur once every few decades.
Climate
Solsileen's climate is rather temperate year round with considerate rainfall in the central and northern regions. As one approaches the equator near the province's southern regions, it becomes much more humid and the rainfall is more severe.
Fauna & Flora
Solsileen is blanketed by vast grasslands and bioluminescent forests that radiate in the night. It is believed that the vegetation and fauna of Solsileen have adapted to absorb the energies of Iskara's star, Sola, and the natural Arcana that permeates the mortal realm, and expel excess energy as light.
Natural Resources
The defining resource of Solsileen is the Sun Stones, or Star Stones, which form when sizeable amounts of Arcana pool and coalesce into the mineral. In recent centuries the Solvithar have discovered a way to create the Sunstones, or at the very least guide its natural formation. These Stones are used fora variety of reasons, from weapons, to armor, and ornamentation.
History
Little is known of Solsileen prior to the Age of Divinity except that is was the seat of power for the ancient Solvithar and enjoyed a golden age of unrivaled prosperity much like the rest of Iskara. This golden age would come to an end with the invasion by the forces of The Void known as the Incursion, an event of near apocalyptic proportions. Fortunately for the Sun Elves, the Void beings focused most of their attention on the central regions of Teldara and thus Solsileen was spared the worst of the invasion. However, much of Solvithar history and technology was lost or destroyed along with countless lives. Following the subsequent defeat of the Ventara and their Voidlings, the Pentarchs, demi-god like Elves, soon rose to power and placed themselves as the true rulers of the Elves and the Vidithari Dominion was founded soon thereafter. While the Solvithar's power was greatly weakened, they along with the Moon Elves, held the most power at this time and used it to expand into Arikiri and Sareni territory, enslaving and pillaging any that stood in their way. Eventually the Dominion's grasp on Teldara would crumble following the Morathar Rebellion. Now, centuries later the Dominion seek to regain the power they once held.
Tourism
The Solvithar are extremely isolationist and rarely let non-Elves into their territories, especially since the start of the War with Nekova. But those fortunate few who are granted temporary admittance to the region describe it as "breathtaking, as if I walked among the halls of Aetherius".
